Please give me some tips I can do to make my car look better. BTW, I have an appointment in a week to get my car tinted, ill post some new pics once I get them tinted, anybody got any ideas on how much % of tint to get, what looks the best? examples? Please give me my feedback on my new car I love so much. Thanks!

It's a 2003 GT

It's a 2003 GT man, I think you are meaning the se's or regular grand am's are going without the ribs. I can prove it if you want, look on the back man, brand new car 2003.

As it was mentioned befor i would start of with some tints then go ahead and put some new rims on there, if you dont like the stock ones (which i do like)........
If you got an extra 2k's lying around (which most of us dont ) i suggest you could order an *** kit .........
Thats as far i would go with appereance modification....
What ever you do bro .... (dont be a ricer).... and it will look great
Have FUn

Yeah I know we can do it with a mod but on a 2003 I knew that it had to be something from the factory.

Lightbulb

I would start out with getting the dual post mirrors if you don't like the alero style ones and get some all-season floor mats to protect the floor better than the carpeted ones.

Sweet car!! But I do have a question for you, how come it has the old chrometech wheels on it and not the new style ones?

Also new for 2003 is a starter cut out, once the engine starts it is impossible to grind the starter.

I will be getting the 30th Anniversary GT and i think it will have the ugly alero mirrors and torqued rims(i may be able to special order the older rims tho like 03blackgt did)... where can i get a hold of the dual post mirrors that look good to replace the nasty ones???? this would be much appreciated!

Thanks for all the comments, can you guys post me links and how much I should expect to pay for the all-season floor mats? Also send me pics of the new mirrors and how much I would have to pay for them? Thanks!

Good looking coupe!

Will look sweet with some ting....at LEAST go 35%.......20% will be really dark...but its not that much darker (when sitting IN the car)...looking in is whole different story!

Time for a HOOD too....black cars for some reason just look too damm good.

Unhappy

I use to buy a new Grand Am GT every year, but I stopped at 2002. At mid-year they put those lovely new mirrors on, oh and forget to put badges on the doors anymore. I have the newer style wheel. I think they are an improvement over the original, especially since you canj get the original chome techs on an SE. It is on of the few points of differentiation now.

Boycott all cars with unpainted mirrors. IF THE BUYING PUBLIC ACCEPTS CRAP FOR A PRODUCT THAN THAT IS WHAT THEY WILL GET!!!!!!!! I have noticed a disturing trend at general motors and ford for that matter............................................ ..............................................

cost cutting gone crazy!!!!!!!!

Where toyota and Honda strive to make a superior product year after year......i.e. the product usually gets better over time the domestics choose the low road.
They make a new product and then look to cut costs every year.

The grand am; introduced in 1999 as a 2 and 4 door in both gt and se versions. By 2000 the nice cloth inserts in the doors were gone and now replaced by a nice fake leather substitute. By 2002 SE recieves the alero mirrors. Mid year 2002 grand am badge disappear off all doors (se and gt). Gt looses its painted mirrors too. The trunk key tumbler was painted black up until this point....now is left unpainted.

2003 brings more take-aways: Trunk cargo net? GONE! Glove box lock? GONE!
Front liscence plate cover? Now an option.

The seats OH MY LORD COMPAIR 99-02 SEATS TO 03-ABOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE FABRIC AND PADDING IS OF A NOTICABLY LOWER GRADE......AND LUMBAR SUPPORT IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2003 SE 2 door is dead. The cladding on the sides is replaced with what looks like alero moldings that are definitely cheaper. It is touted as the "clean" look. A salesmen told me 2003 model year sales were down 17 percent and he said G.M. was baffled as to why.

DID GM DO ANYTHING TO MAKE THIS CAR BETTER OVER THE RUN OF THE MODEL RUN?????????
DID GM FIX THE WINDOW REGULATOR, LEAKING LOWER INTAKE PROBLEM, OR THE WARPPED ROTOR PROBLEM???????????
DID GM OFFER AN ENGINE COMPAIRABLE TO A VTEC HONDA V6 OR EVEN A POWER AND SMOOTHNESS LEVEL OF A FRIGGGEN TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA V6????????

NO AND NO.............JUST SLAP THEM TOGETHER AND RAISE THE PRICE AND KEEP MAKING AN ENGINE THAT TRACES IT ROOTS BACK TO A CITATION FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! WASN'T UPPED IN POWER ONCE.....THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST SUPERCHARGED IT!!!!!!
ALL THEY DID WAS TAKE AWAY, DEVELOP NOTHING, AND RAISE THE STICKER PRICE THEN WONDER WHY THEY HAVE TO SLAP $4,000 PLUS CASH BACK TO SELL A CAR THAT IF THEY INVESTED A LITTLE IN WOULD RETAIN BETTER RESALE VALUE AND BE MORE DESIRABLE TO PURCHASE NEW!!!
SORRY FOR YELLING!!!!!!
