5.0 gets Charger in NYC

Right now they're in testing phase. If it does come into production for the police, it will feature a V-8 5.7 liter Hemi engine. It will push 340 hp, with an acceleration of 6.52 seconds to 60 mph, with a speed of (fastest lap time) 150 mph.
Burn rubber, cops are going to have fun chasing down the bad guys.

I thought by the title of your thread that a older mustang with the 5.0 got a supercharger. Haha, anyway, that would be a nice police car do be cruising around in. Not a good one to try outrunning

I have never been to New York City; however, how much use are they going to get when traffic is bumper to bumper? I didn't even think it was possible to have a "high speed chase" in the city.

I'm hoping to make it as a cop when I graduate in May. Maybe Maryland will start getting these?

These are already in production. I think MI is one of the states already using them?

The only state's that i can see having these are out West and CA. What the hell does NY need them, that like trying to have a police chase down the 80/94 at 4:30 in the afternoon. No where to run anyway.

Around here a couple very affluent departments have a handful of them already. They give me a slight boner just thinking about em (the car, not the affluent departments, although thatd be nice too).

Im glad our tax dollars are going into crooked cops driving 30,000 dollar vehicles to only ding and bing them up. I think grand marques are more than fast enough....and a high speed chase happenes what, once maybe 3x a year at that...mostly foot persuits in NY....and sh!t u ever seen cops? even with the high speed chases on that, the cops ALWAYS catch the bad guy and its that way in real life, they could be driving a daewoo for all i care and they will still catch the guy in a mustang, only becasuee he will crash going 95mhp into a ice cream truck...

They're already in use in Auburn Hills, MI. I've seen quite a few of them...they're used there because that's where the Chrysler Tech center is. They look so bad ass too.

so what if they get dinged up? they still run fine.

and of course on cops they always catch them.... they wouldnt put the ones that got away on tv... wouldnt make the cops look good

states that would need faster police cars would be the ones with wide open highways in like arizona and **** where cars can blow by a cop parked on the side of the road at 100mph... the cop might as well go back to sleep, no way he will catch him

all you need is a car that can get to 95 and handle better than most, paired with a good driver.

High Speed chases are near impossible in Manhattan. They are going to use them for the Highway Patrol unit.

Daewoos would probably disintegrate if you hopped a curb with one, drove over train tracks, fat people, things like that.

A charger has plenty of power, space, strength in the frame and suspension, and on top of that it kills 4 cyls when youre not using them. Sounds good to me! CV's arent used cause they are fast thats for sure. They are strong and hold up well (take impalas for example, they are slow, and break really really frequently because they are crappy cop cars).

So im allll for chargers.

Braves; I have no problem with intelligent questions at all, so no worries. But hte majority of people on car forums, especially forums where the car is relatively cheap and owned by young people, the vast majority of members have views such as graxall's.

I'm sure I'll be seeing them soon in Neveda by Highway Patrol.... They still have a few Z28 Camaro, an old hyped up 5.0 Muffstain, an assload of Impalas, some Ford SUV's and BMW motorcycles. I'm slightly worried.
