I had heard that it was rated at 220 hp....with the 2.3....to help them distance between the 3 and the Mazdaspeed 6....Not certain but thats what I heard.

Damn... Why couldn't they make it in the sedan.

Mazda 3 Sedan > Mazda 3 Sport Waggony Thing.

Then again, I'm a little biased since we own a sedan.

Should scoot pretty good though....

Not bad, that car needed a performance boost. I agree that the sedan should be offered as well.

274hp! this 3 isnt too bad and should rule that market until everyone else starts to hop up their hp.

huh? i dont think the motors hae turbos, but i could be wrong. (too lazy to look it up) im probably dense and missing a rip on mazda, but uh-well. the truth is, the mazdaspeed6 is fast as hell for its class, if only that engine were available in the fusion id consider buying it.

No I am not ripping on Mazda specifically; just on 5W-20 motor oil.

I actually like Mazdas.

It is just that we have in North America: Honda, Ford, & Mazda demanding we most use 5W-20 motor oil for CAFE reasons.
But everywhere else in the world, they wouldn't think of using 5W-20 motor oil.

But the auto makers found some exceptions on engines that cannot use 5W-20; even though they say it is so good for us.

No one in their right mind would use a 5W-20 motor oil in a Turbo engine.
& IIRC neither does Mazda want you to use a 5W-20 motor oil in MazdaSpeed Turbo'd engine

Am I seeing things, or does that gas pedal actually go into the floor, rather than hang?

LOL that's the button that takes away 100 hp on command. Much like the reverse of the BMW "M" button.

It's the whole drive by wire, no need for a mechanical connection to the throttle.

It does make for a totally different feel to the pedals.
