Track Goers!

Anyone going to Byron on Sunday, if you want we can all meet up at my house, which is basically on the way to Byron from any direction except anyone that may be coming from WI. But my assumption is that anyone going Sunday is already in Schaumburg, and you drive right by my house (literally) to get to Byron.

I will most likely have food, and have tools, jacks, and stands if any morning tuning needs to be done. I have a few friends going with, so atleast 2 other cars (probably more) will be with me.

Ive done 8 sets of suspension ...

We can do it Friday night before the meet... assuming you get here early enough ( I R/Od off of work for Friday/Sat/Sun)

Its $25 for test and tune, run as many times as you like, $10 just to get in and spectate

My buddy Taylor will be able to help us too, and I can borrow a compressor and air ratchet, all we need to do is rent the spring compressors ($65 refundable after return at Autozone)

i may be going to the track if i can get the day off work. ive never once been to a track so id be new at everything. the only downside is id have about a 2 hour drive to get up there cuz im almost 100 miles south so i gotta see if its a good idea to drive up there.

1/8th mile track I beleive and its crappy...

Byron is the place to go..

As far as being a newbie I consistantly ran 15.5s with just a CAI, no resonator, and stiffer suspension, with a best run of 15.3 ... if you run it enough you figure it out

ya you got any tips for the track for those of us who have never gone? and is it really worth taking out my sub and spare tire and any other dead weight in the car? is byron and 1/8th or 1/4 mile track?

Byron is 1/4mile

Spare tire no, what if you get a flat on the way? Sub + Amp yes... thats usually like 50-75lbs

Tips:

Feather the throttle out of the hole, otherwise you will do like a 60' burnout (I have my car doing this on tape somewhere) then just keep the pedal down to the end. After your first run, check two things:

Your reaction time: This helps against grudge matches but does not effect your 1/4mile et.
60' time: You want these in the 2.2s if its 2.4 or 2.5 you are most likely over throttling out of the hole

if my car is track worthy at the time i should be joining in the fun.

it will also be my first time racing at a track so i think i might need a little help.

also if i get my shop version pt in time i will be bringing it with to the meet. (its paid for just waitin for it to come in)

if we wernt going to the track i would not be going. it would take a act of god, or my car blowing up not to get me to the track. so put this in stone, I WILL BE THERE!
