new 20" chrome rims

before anyone starts bashing and saying negative things, im just posting a pic of my new wheels and for those few that have any questions about 20" rims fiting on a grand am - its fine these are 20x8.5+45 and would fit any grand am with a 225/35/20

again im not going for another war just leave out all the negative comments!!!

hope everyone is having good days

dude, im sorry, but if you say you dont want bashing in a post, then you're just begging for it to happen. seriously, if you dont mention it, chances are it either wont happen that much or it wont happen at all.

the way i see it you want people to bash, because you complain and complain about it, and yet you stay. and yet you continue to post. seriously, if you want to show it off, then show it off. dont mention the bashing and you wont get bashed.

the wheels look good but they arent my cup of tea.

eh, i prefer to have rubber.. the stopping distance of chrome alone is like 100X of that w/ rubber.. plus rubber is alot quiter as your rollin through the neighborhood. i bet acceleration and steering sucks balls though, no real grip w/ out rubber.. but to each his own.. i like rubber.. if i wanted my car to ride like a tank, id do it..

I was wondering this too. I could have a semester of college, or a diff car for the price of those bad boys and tires. Looks sweet though.

I'll leave the negative comments aside for now... however, I'd get at least a 235 width tire for an 8.5 inch wheel.

i cant go with a 235 only because i have air suspension, but if a normal ga went 8.5 you are right a 235 would be better

i paid $2600 rims and tires - in the morning i will be getting them mounted and balanced just wanted to test fit first. and ya believe me i have to help my girl with tuition and this would have covered a semester but i needs my scrims!!!

trigga i could get you a deal on a set of 18's same wheel if you want pm me

This may be a dumb question, but have you test fit them with the tires on?
Of course a 20 inch rim with no tire will fit, it's smaller then an 18 with tire.

the test fit was to make sure the rims clear the calipers being such a hich offset and i know they will fit with the tires on them i dont have any wheelwells and i have air ride there is no turning issues - i had to make sure they were not going to stick out past the fender and clear the brakes!!!

Not making any comments on style what-so-ever... my personal opinion is that with that wide a wheel you need a wider tire, and with a wider tire that offset would be too high and you'd rub the frame. You might actually still rub the frame now at full steering lock. My 17x7's have a 42mm offset with 235/45 tires and the drivers side front edge rubs the frame when steering is full to the right. A 225 is kinda narrow for an 8.5" wheel and the wheel will stick out further than the rim. There was a blue scion at the show 2 weeks ago with the rims half an inch out past the tire... looked very tacky, besides being dangerous for the cars handling. Again maybe just my opinion, but I wish people would pick the proper width tire for the wheels they use rather than going for the ultra thin look.

not necessarily my style 20, but your looks clean to me. Man I understand about bashing cause I got bashed on bad cause of the clear tails and vinyl and pipe and the fact I have a kit. I got bashed beyond belief so I know where your coming from, car looks clean as hell, def want to see a pic mounted rims and tires so can see the whole car with it. To me you cant look at a rim and say thats gonna look awesome on the car without seeing it full on the car, like I said its not my cup of tea style rim, but after mounted and with ur airride, they may look hott. SO cant wait to see the update man.

I love your car though, and dont feel bad, i own many things frowned upon by this site, and they let me have it too!

true....did it when I first got the car, think i was 17 and stupid, I found that kit and was like yea I am going to do that and never did look to see if they had anything else, 17 and stupid, now 20, but still stupid and now I want a different kit! When I have the time, I am going to buy another kit, def leaning towards the rk sport kit. Simple yet adds a lot, esp coming from an SE.

I do like the way you did the se to gt to sc/t, but thats too much for me

what do you mean its too much for you? if you get the sct kit on sale and the GT parts you need, i bet it would cost about the same as the rk kit.
