Talking RSM Supercharger Pics, Videos, and Dynos... oh my

hi, my name is daniel. i have albuquerque's first supercharged Grand Am. the process took roughly over 16 weeks including installation. as most of you remember i planned to have this installed in october, welcome to january . i finally got some pictures for you guys from my new digital camera. the video is not too good of quality, but it will be the first video of a 2.4L supercharged Grand Am on the internet. i need someone to host it too (please PM me, thanks). the dyno was done by Dyno Edge, which is the most popular local dyno shop. btw, the numbers shown are to the wheels at 6 psi. calculate it out and my Grand Am has about 230 hp to the crank including loss of hp due to elevation. the blow off valve is AMAZING. i've been asked what kind of turbo it is several times on the road. overall, i know that i have gained at least a 12 car length increase from the RSM kit. it came out to a little over $5,000 including install. i would be happy to answer any question you guys have at all about the rsm kit

i'm having some trouble posting the dyno sheet because of file size and the ability to read the chart. iceman will be taking care of the video and i'll see what i can do about the dyno sheet. it is a scanned portion of the copy of the original, so do you see where my dilemma is? thanks again iceman

anytime dave . i really want you guys to see this at the upcoming picnic (i mean it's only 5-6 months away ) but im looking forward to it. the power steering was the only drawback to having this. on the 2.4L, our powersteering is direct drive, meaning it runs directly off one of the cams. now, the pulley system is set to run off that, taking away energy. its not a terrible problem anymore, it used to be a lot worse, but the thing is finally breaking in

I can' t speculate. Pacman has boost, I do not. Until I have boost I can't say anything.

Pacman can you do me a favor and try to get a pic of the oil return line and where they tapped it on the oil pan. Thanx a lot.

Do you have a 5 speed manual or automatic?

233. 6 HP
224.5 lb/ft Torque at crank(if automatic, 22% drivetrain loss)

214.3 HP
206.0 lb/ft Torque at crank(if 5 speed manual, 15% drivetrain loss)

Not bad at all.

My last dyno from Nov. '01 was:

190.3 Hp
203.1 lb/ft Torque

244.0 Hp
260.4 lb/ft at crank(22% drivetrain losses)

I will be at the dyno again in a week or 2. I have not dyno'd since I installed the RT downpipe and the 2.5" SC pulley. It should be interesting.

ok and here is the line graph and full dyno chart. i went over it in red marker cause it doesnt show up well at all on the computer. i really need to get a new scanner

edit: kman, how much psi are you running with the new pulley? i asked if i could get a smaller one installed, but the shop wouldnt do it because there is a good chance the belt could slip. right now i am running an 8 lb pulley and running just over 6 psi at this elevation (5000 ft). i am still working on that video too. i guess i have hotmail and wont let me send anything over 1 MB wtf . do you guys know where i can host at a website for .mov? i've tried to find converters too and still no luck. everything is mpg!!!

Hey can you get a pic of the oil tap please. THanks

Hmm the a/f looks like you went lean on the top end. But maybe you left off. I can't tell when its in spd not rpm.

With the 2.5" pulley, I am seeing 10 psi of max boost now( the weather is cold now, which helps). In other than Winter, I am at 8.5 psi of max boost.

Kman...Where me and pacman live the altitude has as large of an effect as drivetrain loss. Therefore he is making even more crank horsepower...i calculated it out to be more of a 30-35 percent loss from the crank to the wheel. I think i remeber getting something like 234-244ish crank. His car is quick regardless.

10 lbs! that is crazy boost i wish my charger could make that. doug, i was running lean on the top end. they wanted me to purchase a fuel pressure regulator for my car so it runs a little more rich. btw, i sent some pics of the oil tap to your email . i still need to post that video too! tonight i will try my best.

edit: any recommendations to sites? the videos i have are 4-5 MB each and hotmail only lets me send just over 1 MB and yahoo only 3 MB
