Cool My new GAGT

Hello all, I just got my 2005 GAGT on March 18, 2006. Its a left over 2005, so I got a heck of a deal on it. I love it so far, my only cmplaint is about the weathertech winddeflectors and not the car itself. let me know what you think. I got my windows tinted, calipers painted red, red / silver pin stipe, and the new mirrors are installed. I put GM mirrors on it since im going to have it for awhile, didnt want to risk aftermarket parts. In some of the pics you can see a wind deflector on the passenger window. It fits in the windo channel, I was letting it stretch out the channel before I closed the window completely. Then it broke...... So now im waiting on the replacement to see if they work any better.... if not, im getting my money back. Next on the list are some after market headlights and tail lights, already got them picked out, just need to wait a month or so to afford them now. Enough of that, here are the pics, let me know what you think.

Looking good. I like the pinstripe. Keep it no matter what everybody else says. Is the pinstripe painted also, or is it the tape style? Either way, keep it. It's different. Good choice with the dual post mirrors. Never really cared for the others.

also curious what you paid (with the whole '05 leftover thing going on), if you didn't mind sharing.

Well, the window sticker was $25,xxx. The had it marked down to $21,xxx. But I got a supplier discount, gmcard money, pontiac rebate, and March madness money, all of which come off the actual price, not sale price, so before tax title license, I got it for ~$17,000. Some of the discounts werent supposed to be combinable, but the dealer made some calls and pulled some strings for me to get it off their lot. Not to bad for a car that had 40 miles on it the first tim i got in it, and some of that was from when my younger brother went to test drive it and put money down to hold it for me until I could make it to the dealer.

Yeah, I really like the pin stripe. Ill try and get a better pic of it later, when the sun is at a better angle, but it really sets the car off. Makes it look different than others, but its not crazy or wild looking. Just breaks up the black some. Its pin stiping tape, not paint.

Now i just gotta get me some after market lights.

That is a good deal. Congratulations! Are you looking to do any performance mods, or just sticking with the appearance stuff? Looks good, keep us updated.

Thanks, For now im sticking with appearance. Ill be happy when i get the tail lights and headlights and a nice set of wheels. Then I might get a different exhaust on it, and possibly an K&N filter once the stock one needs replaced, but It has enough power for me for now. I gotta buy the lady friend a ring some time in the near future, and I got lots of other things I want, so most performance mods will have to wait until my next car, or longer yet.

The dreaded R word. Money pit...

Congrats on the new car and I love the pinstriping. Looks really good. Not a fan of the later GT wheels, but they are shiney so they work. Tint looks nice too. Make sure that at 35000 you have the dealer fix what ever may be wrong with it.

PS. Leave the tails, and get those black headlights. Those would look sweet.

Im going to get the black headlight some time before too long, and I really like the tails like in Pontiac Ninja's Avitar. I want the black ones, not the carbon fiber ones. Wheels will probably wait until next spring for..... got some other things I need / want before then, unless of course I can get a decent amount out of the wheels / tires I have now.

I love it when dealers pull out that classic line of BS. 'I'm putting my job on the line to get you this deal.' 'My boss isn't going to be happy with this deal, you're stealing the car from us!' 'You're lucky we caught my boss in a good mood today.'

I was sitting there when they were on the phone with gmcard.... I wasnt supposed to be able to use it with the supplier discount. Says right on the gmcard website. Same with the march madness discount. Sat there for awhile with hmi on the phone in front of me to get me the discounts, cause if I wouldnt have gotten them, no way was I spending ~$22k on a new car thats almost 2yrs model yrs old.

As for the lights, when I can afford stuff again, Ill get some. but stock will have to do for now.

IMO (I feel like I say this twice a day), only replace headlights/tails if they start to go bad on ya. Take the $400 and use it on different parts of the vehicle.
