Has anyone heard anything about this little bugger of a car? Just curious...

I've seen it at a local Honda dealership. About the ugliest Honda I've seen to date. Yes, it's actually worse than the Elephant... err Element.

I've heard the handling is pretty tight, though...

All the reviews I've read about them have been positive. Not my cup of tea, but i can see how it would be appealing to a lot of people. I smell another big seller for honda. Interestingly, the Fit sport model is has been tested as faster through a slalom than a corvette.

& how did the Honda Fit go through the salom faster than the Corvette ?
Honda almost always puts too small & ****ty tires on their cars !
(the exception being the Honda S2000 that used to have Bridgestone Potenza SO-2 as stock tires)

Its the cream of the crop as far as subcompact cars go. It is a little pricy though for basic transportation. I have heard it handles very well too. The interior is just as nice as a Civic and has a lot of Acura influence (look at the gauges). I was surprised by just how much room was inside. I wouldn't buy one since I don't like 4 door hatchbacks, but if you can get over that it is pretty nice.

The slalom test was in the latest issue of Car & Driver, and it wasn't just any corvette, but the all-hallowed z06. If you believe it, that's one spunky little car. And as for competeing with Aveo, I expect this little bugger's gonna smoke it and the toyota yaris as far as sales are concerned.

Oh my God is that thing fugly!

However, its a Honda, so all the little sheep will flock to it like its a great car or something.

And of course it got good reviews, all the biased reviewers would give a frikkin' Pacer a 5-star review if it had a Honda emblem on the grille.

Hmmm....interesting. The C&D article is what caught my attention...we're looking for a good autocross car, hence why I posted this in the first place. I don't know much about Hondas, really....but the price isn't bad at all, and then slap some good tires on there....might have some possibilities.

i know most of ya'all are Honda haters, but for anyone interested in the Fit:

http://www.gdhatch.com/
http://www.fitowners.com

Engine wise, it's a 1.5 liter VTEC with 105 bhp and 109 ft-lbs. Youd think itd get really good gas mileage with that engine, but when tested, it only averaged 38mpg on the highway, which is worse than a Civic EX.

Shoehorn a k20 in there and youve got a nice lil sleeper

I saw one in person, in this baby blue. I was not impressed.

Id much rather have a Yaris, or xA for that matter. The xA is the best priced of the 3, with competing gas mileage.

In that price range I would go with either a Suzuki Reno, or even better, a Dodge Calibur.

They're all fugly........ but if I had to get an econobox, I'd probably get the Suzuki Reno or the Chevy Aveo hatchback. (the coupe looks even worse)

I think an Aveo with a lil tint and a nice set of wheels would look decent....I know everyone hates the Caliber but I think it looks allright...more "manly" than the rest.
