What should I get for the interior?

Ok, I know this sounds stupid but I'm more than likely going to be buying a '00 Grand Am GT tomorrow. It's FULLY loaded. With leather interior. My question is what should I get to clean the dashboard and doors inside? Are they vinyl or leather? I plan on trying Meguiars for my first round of detailing because it's SO afforadable. This car needs a TOTAL overhaul for cleaning. It's not terrible, but it definitly hasn't been detailed in a while if EVER! How could anyone have such a beautiful machine and not make it gleam???!!!!! I'm working on a list of stuff to get to clean this kitten up, she's silver btw! I've got tons of plans for modding it, especially since it has none as of current! I'm already working on my steering wheel cover, and once I get my "Unique" decals it'll be time to make the Seat covers. Which I'm actually hesitant to do, because that leather is NICE! I don't have any kids, so it's not like they NEED covered... Anyways here's my list of stuff I'm planning to get for the car:

These are ALL MEGUIARS:

Hot Rims Foam Cleaner
Gold Class Rich Leather Shampoo/Conditioner
Car Wash Shampoo/Conditioner
Quik Dry Detailing System
Nxt Generation Bug & Tar Remover
Nxt Generation Spray Wax
Carpet Cleaner
Nxt Generation Glass Cleaner
PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish
Nxt Generation All Metal Polysh
+ The Needed washing accessories.

Am I missing anything?

Ditch the quick dry detailing system, use a micro fiber drying towel.
Bug and tar remover is alright as long as you are gonna wax after using it.
Ditch the spray wax
Ditch the nxt glass cleaner, pick up "stoners invisible glass" auto glass cleaner
Ditch the nxt all metal polish, pick up a can of eagle one never dull.

Okay this is what im gonna recomend for a beginner car detailer. I hope you have ALOT of time to do this, it may take a good 8 hours the first time.
Wash ( i use NXT carwash)
dry (micro fiber drying towel)
clay bar (we can talk about this or you can search)
wash
dry (micro fiber drying towel)
Zymol cleaner wax

For interior, On my leather i just use any ole leather cleaner and then a conditioner. I have used many many many different types of leather cleaner and conditioner and they all come out the same.

After that just wash once a week and wax every 4.

The only megs stuff i use is the pro line and you cant just get it at a parts store plus i dont recomend it to beginners.

This is all just a kinda quicky explanation of what to do, there is alot more to it.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

So can you tell me why I should switch these out? And about how much do the other stuff you recommend cost? Also what should I do for the interior dash and doors?

OK
Spray waxes dont last long plus you wont get a real good coverage on your paint. You have to realize that wax is not the important part, its the least important. 80% of your final outcome depends on your prep. What i mean by that is how you set up your paint like, clay bar (cleanes paint of all dirt that it embedded plus old wax and polishes), paint cleaner (megs makes a good paint cleaner, polish (this is tricky and we could talk about it all day), sealant and then your final step.....wax. Spray wax is just plain crappy and is for the idiot consumer who knows very little about detailing a car.
The BEST way to dry a car is a micro fiber drying towel. The quick dry detailing system again is aimed towards idiot consumers who know very little about detailing a car.
The NXT glass cleaner is alright and will work. Stoners is hands down the best glass cleaner there is and cheaper than the NXT, you can use it in your home to! Once you try it, you wont ever use anything else ever again.
The NXT metal polish is alright. Eagle one never dull is just the shiz, cleans, polishes and protects all in one (im not a fan of all in one products but i make an exception for this and zymol cleaner wax). Again, just gotta use it and you will see what i mean.

The cost of the things i listed are cheaper or the same price as what you listed. Im not brand loyal, i just use what works and believe me ive tried EVERTHING.

As far as your doors and dash. MOST leather cleaners and conditioners (made by any company) are also meant for vynil and plastic.

thats a lot to read and im lazy, but if the carpet is nasty too, pull it out and hose it down. I did it last summer and it looked like a new interior. makes all the difference.

I wouldnt say that spray waxes are for idiots. But they're definatley no substitute for a regular wax.

If im getting ready to go out and my car is still clean but i see that someone has gotten finger prints all over it or it's looking a bit dull i'll take a quick 5 min and spray wax it. But never spray wax it when it's got any dirt on it.

What you wanna use for that is a "quick detailer" not spray wax.

coupe i have to disagree with you. imo tech glass cleaner is the best window cleaner i have ever used. i hate the stoner invisable glass.

Well i do have to say that alot of this stuff is personal prefferance.
I went through so many glass cleaners and one day my last option on the shelf was stoners, so i bought it and fell in love with it. I can make my front windshield look like it isnt even there.

How does the reifer product work on coated glass (window tint, sound deadening material, etc.)? Or can it be used at all?

The trick is to use one towel to wipe it and another to buff it.

It's funny cause he's become the detailing master in a matter of a week or two.
