Turtle Wax ICE

just bought some of this at Wal-Mart for $17. I also bought the detailer spray as well. Has anyone heard anything about this new product? I might wash my car today and wax so I will let you know how it turns out. I was using the meguires showroom wax. I am eager to see how the clear liquid wax turns out. Post reviews i you have any. Another question, is the detail spray only for when I wash my car but dont wax it or do I wash, spray, then wax? I am kinda confused. I have never used detail spray before.

I tried doin some research online, but theres just a generic press-release from SEMA last year about it. And cardomain's editors did a review. Nothing too exciting yet. Let us know what you find out, Id like to try it out, even though it costs a ridiculous amount.

detail spray is just that....detail spray, you spray when you want to detail the outside inbetween washed, or before a show. It goes on after wax whenever you need it, but isnt necessary

Autopia.org has some hardcore members that tried it and they said that it wasnt anything special and the longevity is horrible. Not worth the price.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

So I should wash, dry, wax, then detail spray today? Or wash, dry, wax today and then wash, dry, detail spray next week when I dont wax? Sorry if I sound dumb but I am new to the detailing info of my car. I usually just wash and then wax with meguires.

Hell no.
the proper way to detail your paint
wash
dry
clay bar
wash
dry
Paint cleaner
Polish (what does your paint look like? that way i can tell you what to use)
sealant (race glaze is great stuff)
Then the wax of your choice.

After that just wash once a week and wax once every 4 weeks.

Not everyone has a week to prep their car for wax.

I dont agree.
You only need to do this once. I think just about anyone can schedule an 8 hour day to do it right. Unless you are married with 6 kids and even then it can be done.
After that its just wash once a week and wax every 4.

And then repeat once every year... Most people have other things they need to get done. Most people can't alot two or three days in a row to get this done. It is impossible and/or impractical for most people.

Only way you would have to do it once a year is if you live in a state that has winters and you cant wash or wax for 4-6 months.
People look at my car and always say that they wished they had the time to do the same thing. The same people when i ask them what they did last night or over the weekend they always say things like "i watched tv and sat around" or "i played video games all day until 2am" or " i was on the computer all night/day" or " i closed out the bar" or " i watched the game". People have the time, they just refuse to use it wisely. By no means do i have the time either, im just as strapped as everyone else, i just use the time i do have wisely.

i can wash, dry, and claybar in an hour solid. if you dont get distracted easily and work efficiently it doesnt take that long to do the full set of steps coupe posted.

And don't forget how much time you can save by washing correctly to prevent paint problems. If you have minimal swirling/scratches, you don't have to remove as many defects and that save's a lot of time during the major detailings.

this stuff sucks, seems like it wont last as long as other wipe on/off waxes

stacie's step-dad got some for her mom's new van for when i detail it and my Meg NTX or whatever is 10000 times better, and cost about the same

Im not a fan of NXT wax, it just dont do it for me. Well on my car color anyway. On reds, blacks and most dark colored cars i recomend S100 paste wax.
I do have NXT for when i do freinds and family's cars, but only if they have silver, white, cream etc colored cars. If they have a dark paint they get S100.

Since you asked the questions you did i recomend you NOT wetsand, your not experianced enough yet. There is a thread on autopia.org where a newb wetsanded his whole car and had to have the whole thing repainted.
If the equinox is coming back from repaint then there should be no swirls. If its white, i would:
Megs #7 show car polish (no abbrasives in this polish) I would apply this with a orbital buffer and a microfiber bonnet.
Then i would hit it with Race Glaze, 3 coats(can be bought at any auto body supply shop, apply by hand, remove by hand).
Followed by a coat of NXT paste wax (applied by hand, removed by hand)

How bad is the swirls on your car? I need to know how bad it is to recomend anything

sorry, i meant my car when i said swirling... and i know what im doing as far as wet sanding, i know it takes a light touch and you have to be careful and i know i have to buff it out... im going to be touching up some areas aswell though so this is kind of a must for the amount of touch up im going to do (the whole front of the hood and some of the bumper aswell as a couple spots in the rear where a slow speed hit ocured... most of it came out with rubbing compound but theres one spot i need to touch up)

oh and its very minor swirling, viewable at angles, mostly on the hood and only really visible in sunlight, i was just going to buff it out but i figured i would ask your guys opinion

for the truck i just want to clean and wax it, it also has vinyl protectors on the side and im wondering how i should clean those (they're like static clean things and they came like that from the factory, dont really want to remove them)... it will be going back in for a respray on the door (they didn't paint it properly where it was hitting the fender after the wreck) and a retouch on the fender because it seems some dust/dirt got into the paint aswell as a couple runs around the fog light... oh and they didn't even align the headlights

That would be minor swirling on your car then.
I would:
wash
clay
wash
dry
Megs paint cleaner (applied with buffer and yellow megs foam pad, removed by hand)
Megs #82 polish (applied by buffer with a yellow cutting pad from megs, removed by hand)
Then i would hit it with Race Glaze, 3 coats(can be bought at any auto body supply shop, apply by hand, remove by hand).
Followed by a coat of NXT paste wax (applied by hand, removed by hand)

If #82 dosent take out the swirls i would step up to #80, if that dont do it step it up to megs 2.0 DACP.
