Warning for those planning or using RSM SC KIT for everyday driving...
Whats up everyone Im going back to NA for a bit, heres why:
Like XtremeGAGT00 had his bolt snap, mine did too. THis is 2 RSM kits now broken. Mine was a bit more complicated. Besides the bolt snapping where the driveshaft connects to the SC, the woodruff key, dowl pin, whatever it is wore down. I had not had the sound Xtreme had so i drove on it for a few days til i was out on a date and the friggin thing came loose completely. It wore down the key, and the keyway on the RSM kit is all messed up, it rounded down the keyway enough that i need a new part. Attached is a pic of the key which now instead of a perfect rectangle, it looks more like a nail. I still reccomend going to a supercharged application. At the same time i would suggest those with an RSM kit to often check the setup. Maybe before every 10,000 miles. I was on about 12,000 miles with the supercharger before mine snapped. Its rediculous that we should need to maintain what should be the strongest materials of the kit but you gotta work with whats out on the market. As for the Vortech products in the RSM kit, it looks A.O.K. they have some high quality materials. Things to do: Tomorrow, try an easy out on the snapped bolt in the SC. Sometime soon, drive to RSM and show them thier crappy materials. |

I agree 10000% about RSM. The first time i ever dealt with them i went THERE to have thier crank pulley put on. They did it, sent me on my way and it was messed up because (what a mechanic told me after 2 attempts by my friends and i, along with a CASE LEarn each time) the timing ring was positioned incorrect. I got no where with them over the phone. They wouldnt even redo it for free even tho its thier bad work/quality. They also last time i was headed to TO i stopped in cause i had a throttle body and trans mount for core charges, i left the tranny mount there and they said the accounting person would call. No call. I called and never got an answer. Never heard back i left 3 messages a day for a few days
Im trying to go thru PFYC because they are who i got the kit from and usually they can get my answers from them passed on from RSM. My second option is to go up there and show them it personally. As im writing this im on google trying to find the canadian better business bureau. Not really because they have defective kit, it could happen to anyone i guess when you dont have much demand for your product to actually have it fool proof, but because they suck, kept my tranny mount, owe me the money for it, wont return calls, poor workmanship when i was there in thier shop etc... |

dude...this really sucks....i miss the power of being boosted!....blight....does your car run like crap now with the pcm in thats programmed for the supercharger or did you put the stock one back in?...i still got my stock one but i left the rsm pcm in there...but the thing is, i have no m.a.f...it got burned out from water damage from my c.a.i...im hopefully gonna be able to barrow one from laxjaxx for a lil while.....atleast you dont have to replace your head like i do for the supercharger to sit properly....

Yeah the UnBoost Club
. Im so glad i never got a big sticker like "supercharged" across my window . Id look funny now. I have the RSM one in. Mine doesnt run too bad if i dont beat on it. I dont have room to put the MAF back in since i left the blower intact. I just slapped a K&N on the throttle body. I just drive to run local errands in the Grand am. I ride with people or take the bust everywhere else for the moment. Do you have an A/F Gauge? |

Mine starts fine. Did you mess with anything that had gaskets recently?? ALSO i called VOERTECH TODAY they said its cool to leave the supercharger in even if its not running the oil will flow through it. I just changed my oil and called cause i dont want to go get fittings to bypass it. So i guess i can leave it all in except the drive shaft.
