Guy I graduated highscool with hydroplaned his mustang

The driver (a guy I graduated highschool with in 2005), passenger (who I also graduated highschool with), and some guy idk were hauling ass down Soncy in Amarillo yesterday. It had just rained, and the car hydroplaned, flipped, and then hit a light pole. I happened to be driving down Soncy with a friend on the way to a movie when I saw about 6 APD officers and a fire truck at the scene. I kinda thought at first it might be him, then thought nothing of it. Turns out it was. The driver (James) died in critical care early this morning, while the other two are in Critical ICU. This is just a reminder of how quick things can change by doing something stupid :

For James, be sure to tell someone you love them. Someone you havn't said that too in a long time. May it be a friend, family member, or someone else you either havn't seen, been mad at, or just forgot to keep in touch with.

EDIT: The car was not a convertable...look to the right...

I hope that awesome ride was worth it in his terrible handling, V6 Mustang

If it was a true sports car, I could see someone allowing this to happen. But to be speeding around like Johnny Racer in a POS slush bucket is what really sucks...and probably one of the reasons the crash occured.

this is what happens when people drive like idiots. sad what happened but at the same time, what would you expect?

if you like driving stupidly, do it under good conditions, dry road and high visibility. so at the very least you have a high chance of something not happening. seriously.

Driving a poor handeling car, in crappy conditions, with passangers..... he didn't deserve to die, but he did deserve to get in an accident and get taught a lesson.

Really that's a shame. Doesn't matter if it was an 80's 4cyl Mustang or a new Corvette, can't drive like an idiot and expect nothing to happen. That's a shame the loss of life.

What happens if the guy would have missed the pole and hit a car full of kids? It's sucks that he lost his life, but better him than someone else. The guy was driving recklessly and he paid the price for it.

I belive they were doing about 90 on a 50, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. Yea, they were all wearing belts. Went to the funeral today, very very sad

"What happens if" doesn't matter.

"What happens if" he missed the pole and hit the brakes then came to a complete stop and nothing happened to anyone?

What happend does matter.

I feel for his friends and parents. Yes, he was being stupid and it's a shame he died for it.
