GI: 3500 Top End
I bought a few 3500's earlier this year for research, and have a topend set that I no longer need.
This particular set is off of a 2005 malibu w/ 7k miles. This includes both heads, LIM, UIM, and a dbw throttle body. If you need gaskets, I can pick some of those up too. I'm thinking $500 plus shipping takes all, if you want to buy something a la carte, PM offers.

By the way, I'll also include an intake gasket set for that price, forgot to mention.

I think Loboman was looking to do a top end swap... he's on here a lot, I assume he'll see this if you keep it near the top.

The problem is, yes you can get a 3500 for $500. However to use the engine you have to modify deal with the crank sensor issues and then the A/C mounts are different, ect. I have yet to hear of anyone swapping over a complete 3500 engine into their grand am.
Also not everone has an engine crane or a truck to go pick up one of these engines and if they do, not everyone wants to deal with getting rid of a heavy engine block. On Car-Part.com a set of cylinder heads will set you back $250 - $300 + shipping and $75 for a Lower and $75 for an upper, for a total of $400 - $450. Then factor in most places won't include rocker arms and sensors. $500 with intake gaskets is a fair price if it includes the rocker arms and Map sensor, especially if Milzy has them cleaned and ready to install.

So this would be all the stuff I'd need to do a top end swap right? Should I use the LIM and UIM or use the LIM and keep my UIM?

The 3500 upper supposedly flows better, but you'll need some kind of adapter plate to use a 3400 throttle body on it.

Compare number 3 to number 4. 3 is the stock 3400 head with 3400 lower and 3400 upper. 4 is stock 3400 head with 3400 lower and 3500 upper. Porting the 3500 plenum however beats porting a 3400 upper. |

The 3500 upper has a 66mm opening I think. Stock uses a 65mm TB. Using a 56mm TB on there would be a shame honestly.
