ive got two 12" xplod's in my car, and for the money it's a good sub. now ill tell you off the bat that most people here will tell you it's ****...and i guess compared to competition level speakers it is. but compared to most speakers in it's price range it is a superior speaker.

Look into a Diamond Audio D1 10 dual 4 ohm or 2 ohm depending on what amp you have. I sell them at my store for 79.95 and piece and they come with a 3 year warranty and about 2 inchs of excursion. You really can't beat that for the price.

i called it. seriously, ive heard some xplod's compete quite well with some w3's..this was actually last summer up in alma, MI for a meet. metallman56 was there as well and im sure he remembers how nice those xplod's sounded. some will say i haven't heard good subs thats why i say the sony's sound nice, and i say they haven't heard properly pushed sony's and that's why they think they are crap.

and keep in mind guys, he isn't asking for a competition level sub, he's asking for one that will meet his needs at a decent price and get him by. mendoza, i have yet to here that diamond, but from what i hear of your shop/taste im sure it's also a good buy.

^^^ Exactly. I like my sound to give a little thump, for myself, and the passengers. I'm not exactly trying to be obnoxiously loud, with windows down, driving slow in parking lots. I find that foolish, and an invitation to be jacked. <_<

I have 2 12" kicker comps, those run 90 a peice (I bought them 45 a piece which is why I own them) but for 90 these subs are great and i can tell you they will withstand alot. My friend has the same subs and he has underpowered, overpowered, and done just about anything else you can to it and they are still running strong. Just figured i'd add that as possibly another option.

sorry AJ, i dont think they sounded "good". they were loud, but i dont know if it was the subs, or the amount of rattling the guys POS car was doing. same with the guy with the w3s, although his car didnt rattle as bad. personally i would never buy any electrical product with the name of "xplod" its just asking for trouble. if i were you, i would get on ebay, get a boston acoustics 12" g2. then you will be blown away form the sq. and it hits very well too.

good luck to you dude, hope this helps.

metallman56 is to boston as mendoza is to diamond

both are great, and for the most part, inexpensive.

i forgot the rattling..but they were alot louder than you'd expect from such a "pos" sub. the guy did need to buy out the dynamat store on his car.

AJ that was what a year ago. hell i barley remember the meet. i dont even remember what kind of car he had. i think it was a corsica or a beretta. i remember his subs, and 1 sony amp, with wires going all over hells half acre. it could have been the box he had em in. i doubt that he had too much else in his car, besides rattles.
