for once there is a gagt group buy that is dying off not because of no money, but because of seller issues. this is a first i must say.

So how many people are still in? I'm still in for now, as long as it's this year.

How are they about the refund? Do they just paypal it back or is it a hassle?

finally got a reply from them, which confuses me.

Quote:
The molding has been an issue, this hood is very large and fairly complex. But we are working our best to correct the issues we are having, with our molding method it is hard to put the correct pressure on the mold do to the complexity and size. A spoiler is much easier to mold.

Now, there were no issues with the sc/t hood, right? if the same process is being used, I don't see how there would be an issue with the sd hood. Unless I'm unaware of the process they're using, CF's done with vaccuum bagging, correct?

Edit: I mentioned that I was going to be in on the spoiler buy, I guess they're not as worried about getting those done.

Here's a question: Can they use the same mold to make both fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods? If so, when the excuse was lack of carbon fiber, couldn't they have at least been working on the mold?

I really would like to get the spoiler replicated, but not only have they not replied to my last spoiler e-mail, but I'm beginning to get a little wary about giving them this one-of-a-kind part until they finish the hoods or as a last resort. Maybe Darren and I can search around the bay area to see if we can find something local, so as to oversee the spoiler's whereabouts and to be able to quickly pull out if it looks like it's going to be taking too long.

Not to say I'm canning the Cerious spoiler idea, just starting to explore other options.

true, but, i got a feeling that it's more due to the process than the mold itself. Like something aint stayin in place like it should be.

If you want to find someone local for the spoiler, go for it. But, keep in mind if worse comes to worse, I won't mind the 3 hour drive to CT to steal it back.

Hopefully in 2 weeks! I can't believe it's actually almost ready.

This project is still going strong, last word from our mold/part maker was that the first hood should be ready to ship in 2 weeks.
