Subaru WRX Sti, WOW!

Autoweek reported the new Subaru WRX Sti,will produce 300 HP and 300 lb/ft of Torque. The cars will be available starting in May. The vehicle features Brembo brakes, MOMO Steering Wheel, AWD with an LSD and BBS Wheels for $35K. A truly awesome car.

GM has a large stake in Subaru, like 49% or something. I think it will beat the hell outta the Lancer, because originally I thought the only thing the Lancer had going for it was the extra power. but if this STi has 300, then it exceeds the basic Evo and matches and upgrade I think the offer. Plus it looks nicer (well the new model will) and I believe they handle better and are more comfortable and have 6 gears while the lancer only is a 5 speed.

Doesn't GM own a significant portion of Subaru?

Dayton is a different division, I believe it is a generator (alternator) division which Delhpi is getting out of that business, we do the Die Casting for the generators at Rochester, plus we have a huge engineering center for Delphi in town and a GM engineering center about 40 min away (thats where GM is doing alot of it fuel cell research) we have a small "jobs bank" right now, but no layoffs, what are you guys getting for profit sharing if you dont mind my asking

no profit sharing yet our plant is only 2 years old the duramax is a brand new engine..but our contract renewal is in may..so there have been talks of getting a very substancial raise and profit sharing..and that would be good due to the demand on this engine is outragous..i can only imagine whats gonna happen when the bring out the 6cyl

I must admit it does look better. I really don't like the hood scoop though. And it's a little boxy for my tastes.
