Same price range as the GP/bonnie I dont really see this costing more than 32k not too bad if they do it right, the GTO wasnt really toned down that much. Good riddance to the GP/bonneville the name change is good why would you want this new car to carry on an old and tired name GM is trying to change their image.

I don't think it will be overpriced, it's main competition should be the Maxima, TSX, ES350, and A4- all cars that aren't exactly full on luxury cars but are a slot above the Accord, Camry etc. Therefore I predict a price to range from $27,000 to $35,000.

question is, are they going to offer a sunroof for it? The last holden released in america had no sunroof option!

And is this a Zeta or a completly different platform? Because if it is, it would be nice if Pontiac had a car that didn't share platforms with the Monte Carlo/Impala

Wouldnt that be an ignorant move for GM, b/c then they would spend alot of money on a new platform for only one car, when they could use the same platform for a bunch of their cars.

But yeah, hypothetically speaking, that would be cool.

I wonder if this one will make it into Canada ?
It better pass the 5 mph bumper test

Anyone have an opinion how one would be as a daily driver, in the winter time with winter tires being it is RWD ?
(But you do see alot of RWD in the winter time on winter rubber here in Toronto.
Like: BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc...)

*** Me thinking out loud ***
Wonders how much winter tires are for it in the 19" size & how much 19" aluminum wheels will be for a winter set ?
& will it accept a smaller wheel size ?

Off-Topic:
Does anyone else think it is ironic that we ship the V8 engines to them.
& they assmeble the car & ship it back to us.
Just like the Pontiac GTO LS-series of engines.

There was lots of talk about what they are going to be calling it whether to keep the GP name or G8 or whatnot. Why not keep it called the Holden SS Commodore, we dont change the name of Ferrari's and Lambo's when we import them to America.

Because from my understanding, the point is to replace the grand prix, which is a good call. Don't get me wrong, I like the Grand prix, but if you sit in a G6, then sit in a grand prix, even the 2003 refresh can't disguise the age factor. Even the 2007's still seem to be a late 80's early 90's car. In fact the G6 is acctually roomier inside! there's no point in offering 2 midsize cars from the same brand so they might as well replace it with something else. And honestly I think the Commodore will look great as the grand prix!

I still think GM needs RWD car the size of the G5, with a 5 speed 3.6L V-6 option. Remeber when most of GM's entry level vehicles had the v-6 option? Granted they were underpowered turds back then.

Nobody does that size car in RWD, it would be kind of cool though. It wouldn't really need a V6 as big as the 3.6, the 2.0 ecotec turbo would be fine, come to think of it the 2.8 V6 would be good too.

Screw that, a RWD 3.6L-3.9L 6sp would kick some serious arse if it was in a vehicle the size of a G5.

here's what I'm trying to figure out: 365 hp v-8? Why don't they just use the 400hp LS2 motor they were using before?
