New HeadUnit

What do you guys think of the Clarion DXZ765MP headunit. Im getting it for a good price from a retailer so it comes with a good manufactuer warranty, not to cheap ebay unit. Make some better recomendation if you wish but it must have pre-outs for my subs and aux-out for sirius radio and preferably with MP3-WMA playback.

Seems nice and looks hot. I say go for it for sure considering you can get it for a good price. What is that good price though?

They sell them at 449.50 CAD and I got it for 324.99, plus the install of course which i dont wanna do myslef. I had enough fun connecting my subs and amp up with the monsoon unit. Im not messing around with all the security **** in there again.

When i looked on ebay there about 225 plus shippping and only have limited warranty.

Ok, sorry let me rephrase that. I have one put on hold for that price, I got paid friday and I bank out of town so my cheque doesn't get deposited till monday so if they still got one (only ahd 2 left) then I think I am going to pick it up.

Ohh gotcha. IMO thats a little pricey for a HU w/o a screen or somethin like that. Theres probably some that have specs similar to those minus the fanciness for a better price. I'd search for some but Im on my way out the door right now. I say search around unless thats not breaking your bank.

The 5900 looks like nice deck especially with the bluetooth. But i checked them out with my retailer and they had none in stock and to order them would be about 300 anyways and would probably be about a week or so to get. I figured for the little bit more id get the 728 colors. that what i can match em to my leds

AND BTW, if u order from crutchfield, u get the mount and the antenna adapter free. but i assume u have the grand am gt w/ monsoon which should have a GMOS-01 harness (100ish usually) but with the purchase of a new deck its half off so 40 bucks. i ordered mine saturday and it came to 267 with all the parts and an ipod adapter

Whats your Retailer? Have them do it, that way, you can always dump it on them when something goes wrong.

And from personal experience, i love the Clarion Units.
I own the DXZ865MP (next step up from yours) and love it.
The CeNET gives you expandability (Get Sat Radio, I leave Sirius on 24/7)
The Clarion has a great sound, and when you hook it up to an amp later on down the line, it will rock.
I would say stay away from JVC and Kenwood and the like, but thats because from my experience, lesser name brands break more often. (Besides, they are offering a ton of features at a cheap price, I think they cut corners somewhere, obviously) Get the Warranty for the install/head unit, where I work (Tweeter) its something like 80 dollars for 3 years. Can't beat that.

And STAY AWAY from Nucleous, unless you have OnStar. It was an awful bypass unit. We guinea pigged it on my car, and I hated it. We ended up switching in a tried and true bypass with a built in speaker, and my troubles went away.

But then again, this is the internet.
And im just a guy with an opinion.
