Yeah, well ya'll better just watch out for me!

j/k just kiddin... I don't have money left right now to keep dumping into the engine, and I doubt with my current setup I'll be catching up to Todd and Pat any time soon. Hopefully with a little tuning and dyno time next spring though I'll be back in the upper half of the list.

stock vs stock

I've been reading all the posts on this topic, and its a good topic by the way, and its got me thinking even more about gettin rid of my 99 gagt and gettin a cobalt.

my boyfriend works at the gm plant in lordstown, ohio where the cobalts are built. he's built them and driven them. He wasnt able to drive a SS because they didnt make it automatic at the time ( he cant drive manual ). His exact words to me were " Stock vs stock, u would blow a gasket b4 u would beat a cobalt." A bit of an exaggeration maybe but basically he says a grand prix gt let alone a grand am gt couldnt beat a cobalt.

Here's one to ponder, Magnacharged GAGT with a few supporting mods against a cobalt SS with CAI. Or same GAGT against a cobalt stage 2 with CAI.

Will find out April 7/07.

If the First SS is supercharged I'll put my money on it hands down. And even more so with the second one.

Granted your running a smaller pully but you dont even have headers.

Yet every single person in that list ran those numbers untuned. I'm sure if all the guys in that list were properly tuned, you would see most of those times drop into the 13 sec. range.

Meaning using proper tuning software instead of just getting a quick dyno tune. You have to remember, the PCM is setup for N/A usage, not boost. When you throw boost into the mix it changes the stock tune alot.

Yeah, that list is really old and out of date. It doesn't even list Pat's times he when he still had just the blower and he was running 13's as were several others. Almost everyone on that list was running stock pcm and stock injectors. Couple of them were in colorado too (high altitude). A lot of them were even running stock pulley's and no headers either. They were basically bolt on the blower and go... and anyone who thinks bolting on a blower and going from low 16's/high 15's down to mid 14's isn't a good gain is an idiot.

Fact is even a few NA cars now that have good supporting mods with injectors and tuning are running low 14's and one is running 13.9's. The SC'd cars are capable of running low 13's, and with a better blower they could be running 12's.
