Exclamation New wai!!!

Ok, I'm a dumbas*, my intake did come with all needed pieces, but I got it together and took my car out for a spin. Wow is all I could say, more get up and go and sounds awesome. Here's some pics, please don't burn me too bad, my engine bay stays nasty, I have a dirt drive way.

I fixed the codes, and it's the heat sheild cone offered by "Chrome Intakes". They bundled it with the intake.

youll definately want to point that filter near the stock intake piping in the fenderwell, or else you will be getting all hot air. Not sure of the style of filter, or what the intake is on it. :?

Thank you, thank you. I can't wait till I get my fender and bumper on and my dual post mirrors that I ordered and get it all painted. I think those mirrors will flow well with my 03 SE.

Well, I tried to reverse the angled pipe, but then I couldn't get the sensors in and the battery was in the way.

I really like it, and it did add HP to my car unlike what some people have said.

I don't know if anyone else does, but I know my car. I don't need a dyno to tell me that. I wasn't expecting any gains, but there's a noticable difference.

Nothin like restricting the hell out of airflow. But if you were goin for a WAI you werent lookin for much out of the performance dept anyway. The sound is always a plus though.

It don't restrict air flow, you can put a plastic bag near it and it will suck it right up like a freaking vaccum. But everyone that's talkin ish about my choice in intakes sure hasn't driven my car before and after the intake.

No offense but it looked like something sold at Autozone. And with all due respect (i love using phrases like this), a good portion of us are no stranger to Grand Am performance parts. Sure you feel a difference... but its all relative. If youre used to stock... any increase will be felt. Had you gone the CAI route...or a filter w/o a giant chrome "heatshield"...you might be even more impressed.

Well, I bought it at "Chrome Intakes" on eBay. I actually thought about buying the intake with just the regular cone filter, but the regular cone filter and the one with the heat sheild were the same price and I figured that if I wanted to go a normal filter later on it wouldn't be nothing to find one. But other than the "Chrome intakes" site, I haven't seen a heat shield anywhere else.

Well for the record, although it may feel faster (and it very well may be, .... slightly) most of that is also induced by the fact that its louder. You can hear the engine more, couple that with the impression of "OMG this roxorz! TEH WIN TEH WIN" that anyone gets from adding a new mod to thier car, your "butt dyno" is very easy to fool.

And that heat shield is doing little else except restricting airflow. If you wanted to cool the intake charge, a cold air system, with a fully open filter would have done a better job.

Nice none the less, and I hope you enjoy it as its YOUR car, and that is what matter. Be sure to keep that intake stuff clean though, becuase if its really chrome, its going to rust in no time at all if not taken care of.
