This thread has made my day
Your taking this way to personal guy. These guys arent calling you names or putting you down, they are just tryin to point you in the right direction. Like AJ said we have ridden in your car, with and without those mods.

Its a nice lookin intake for sure though. But it stops there, it looks nice.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

well its not 180* air, but anyway, i give him props for at least doing a performance oriented mod for his car. he could have r!ced it out with 900 stickers and vinyls and put a fart can on it and pimped it like that. psychological horsepower is the best feeling in the world and in the end no one, not even a dyno, can take that away.

I got the Dr Spd WAI and i noticed it was louder and had a high pitched whistle from the air speed over the throttle plate, but it didnt seem any faster. i dont have dyno runs to prove anything, but i know that it didnt get any slower. i also have the MP racing CAI, which will get installed when i get the chance, then WeibSunder, ill let u know what i find.

at least he has more of the makings for a real CAI now, allbeit turned the wrong way, but i would definately take the heat shield off the air filter.

bad buy of my time so far was the TB heat shield from MAP engineering from PFYC, i still have it, but it isnt installed anymore.

I think both sides of this argument need to . WeibSunder was just making an announcement that he got a WAI. I agree that a CAI would have been a better choice as far as performance goes but I dont think it needs to be shoved down his throat. He chose to get a WAI over a CAI because of a personal experience. Hes satisfied with the results from it and all you guys can do is cut him down about how hes not gaining 2 horsepower.

so y would u waste money on this wai? cuz it might even hurt ur performance if ur pushing the engine hard and its a hot day right? like the heat build up on the inside of the hood.

He sumed it up. My personal choice, leave it at that. Just thought people would like to see that I actually did something other than an appearance mod. Sorry if it's not good enough.

u mean u did an appearance mod. it doesnt rele do anything for the car. and ur chrome air filter cover is only for appearance........srry to break it to ya but id personally return it for a Dr. Speed $200 cai for some real gains (8-10 hp supposedly)

hey why dont u either stop it with the little school kid tantrum and talk civil or just leave him alone. not everyone wants the cai, and it is his choice, last time i looked that is what they are even fighting for in other countries, so let him be. he posted the thread to show everyone what he did, not for a bunch of bashing

i'm just saying what the best thing to do is. and like im lookin out for him cuz if he JUST got it and its anywhere close to 200 bucks, he should look into exchanging it for a Dr. Speed cai one. thats all im tryin to say.

theres no way it could perform the same...could it? cuz theres less surface area for air to go in thru... right??

Don't really know, haven't driven the car with an open filter type one. But that's one main reason I got it, because if later on I don't like it, I can just take it off instead of just getting an open filter and later having to go and order one just to see how it is. I can also remove the filter cover and just have the exposed cone filter. It's not attached to the filter it self except some screws.
