LMAO, no no, you see the pic that shows like a small chrome ball at the opening? That is the top of the filter that is inside. The entire chrome outside is removable.

Who would have thought a WAI thread would hit 4 pages
![]() Personally, I would take off the chrome cover because I personally think it is restricting air and not doing much, if any, help at all. That is just me though, its your car so you can choose to do what you want to do.

Everything shipped was $45 something shipped, the chrome sheild thing was bundled in with it. I'm pretty sure they have another one up for a GA with the same filter, I actually saw a CAI on there with the same filter. The filter might be good for deflection of mud and snow and such. But because it makes the engine suck the air through the chrome sheild harder, I would make sure to throw on a bypass valve if you were to get one for a CAI.

Yeah, this isnt bashing...if it were just bashing the thread would have been locked awhile ago. However if I were you, I would look at this as constructive critiscism because that is basically what it is.

cuz i thought it was a good idea too, i have a hybrid intake right now with the stock bottom air box that i smoothed out, and still have the R/A ducting from the front but took out the fenderwell piping, so the WAI is sitting in the bottom of the box, i like it, it sure boosted my ego on the street...

But wouldn't the filters get wet as hell if you put one up to the ram air? My original plan was to make a custom fender "scoop" and cut a hole in the filter and duct the air to a filter under the hood. But I would probably get flamed cuz it was 1st done on a ricer.

Nice, I haven't seen it anywhere on here or the GAOC, but has anyone thought about running chrome intake pipe in the same place that the stock intake is? Pretty much replacing all the stock pipe with chrome pipe.

thats what a CAI does, unless you mean up behind the headlight, which is unrealistic and useless.

Yep, that's what I mean, but have the filter at the end under the headlight, or would you just be asking for it to get filled with water since the filter wouldn't be pointing down and water could settle in the almost U shape of the pipe?
