So your going to make functional ducts? Wouldn't you have to use some sort of air filter from a carb to make it work well? or are you just goin to Y pipe it and run it like that?

Yeah, I think I would get burned alive if I did the fender vent mod I was thinking about.

aww, idk, if you can think it out then you can get it done, but i think the CAI would be better for that, it goes in between the fender and then on top of the splash guard, so then it is kind of shoving more air in at speed if you can angle it toward the fog lamp, and maybe even take it out to see what that might do also

I always thought about that, I saw a sort of chrome funnel that's made for air intakes, just take out the left fog light and put one of the funnels there and having the intake attached to the funnel. Now that's RAM air..

well if i were u, id leave the funnels in the kitchen, just let the air pressure take care of itself.

also the air isnt being sucked into the engine, like with ur plastic bag theory, but it does allow more air in IMO. the air is being pushed in by high pressure going into the area of the lower pressure, ie from outside the cylinders(and ultimately the intake/tb/air filter) to the inside, but u got the right idea

Well cardude, I did a post a while back telling people the experience I had with my friends car. I went over to his house one day and he was putting on this WAI. So I drove it and I was like WOW. Ok, so I asked him if we could put on his CAI because I had heard so much about it. So we did and like I said before I WAS NOT IMPRESSED! To me it was actually slower, I was not biased at the time, I had never driven a car with either before. But that's why I chose the WAI and not the CAI. He has a 02 GA GT. Everything is stock except his intake. My little SE literally spanked his GT when he had the CAI on it. And no it wasn't throwing any service codes. Just wanted to explain to you cardude...not looking to start another freaking "constructional" discussion with anyone else.

Well there is no need to seek approval from the community before doing something to your car. You just have to be prepared for the naysayers at any given moment. The thickskinned definitely have a longer average lifespan on public message boards.
