When the R8's estimated price was around $100k, it would have been a great car, but now that it is going to be priced around $130k I'd rather have the Lambo for another $35k.

I'm not a Lambo fan, so the R8. I think the reactions that other people would have would be more fun too.
"hey, it's a Lamborgini" vs "what is tha.... IS THAT AN AUDI?! NO ****ING WAY!!!" ![]()

Yes, they're both owned by VW.
The R8 isn't as fast as the Lambo. While 0-60 in 4.5 seconds ain't exactly slow, the Gallardo can do it in about 4 flat. Plus, the Lambo people put a little more time and quality into their product. Lambo FTW.

I really dont care about speed as much as much as others. I try to look at them holistically *sp.
1. I go for the Lambo b/c its Italian, Im Italian ey-oh-ey 2. Its fcuking hot looking 3. Its a Lambo 4. Because Lambos rule and so do I. I realized the Lambo has no stick, it just has huge paddles by the steering wheel. I also really like the 3D model on the display dash of the Lambo.

Lambo, hands down! It's italian, it's faster, it looks sexier, and I'm just not a fan of anything audi.

Now see, i'm going to start an argument i'm sure of it, but this is what doesn't make sense.
If I were to own an automotive super-manufacturer, like VW, I would like to budget my money better for less expense and more profit. For example, we used to always criticize GM for having the same vehicle with 3 different outfits. For example, Grand Am, Malibu, Alero. Same car, different look, same thing but spent money times 3, just to try and "profit". Worst part is they all had the same problems, which meant spending 3 times as much to fix all the amount of vehicles out there with the same issues. Now, as VW, why would you need two supervehicles of similar caliber with different name badges? Everyone already knows that Lamborghini is an elite brand with a superb product. Why come out with another vehicle of similiar caliber under Audi? I guess it just doesn't make sense to me. I would dedicate different brands to different areas and call it a day. VW - Entry level German vehicles both foreign and domesticly distributed Audi - Luxury level German vehicles Lamborghini - Supercar Exotic level of German engineering. What's next, are they going to come out with a VW Golf Rabbit ME-FourTwelve? ![]()

Quote:
It's all about brand loyalty. People who have bought Audi's all their lives will stick to Audi's- chances are they wouldn't consider themselves "Lambo" people. It is like with Saab- they have a specific set of people who buy their cars, which is really why they are still around. Oldsmobile lasted as long as it did because they had a buy group that was of a certain mentality with their cars (also like Buick). Another way to think of it is with Chevy people: many Chevy truck owners would never consider buying a GMC truck, because they see it almost as a completely different brand. It's a weird phenomenon and I am doing a crappy job explaining it, but people stay with what they like- or at least what they perceive that they like.

I like the R8 interior better. Those seats look really really nice. The lambo seats look more luxury plus i like the R8 carbon Fibre accents.

Maybe this will change the minds of some Lambo loves.....it just changed the mind for me!!!
"the car is supposed to come in 2 variants, one with an entry-level high-revving 4.2 V8 making 415hp and 430Nm of torque. The top of the line version features a 5 liter V10 from the Lamborghini Gallardo twin-turbocharged to make 610hp and 745Nm of torque. The V10 is not the only thing from the Gallardo. The Audi R8 also shares the same all-aluminium chassis as the Gallardo, as well as it’s four-wheel drive system and 6-speed manual gearbox. So what makes the Audi R8 different from it’s raging bull brother? For one, instead of the Gallardo 6-speed manual, you have the option of a newly developed 7-speed DSG sequential gearbox. The Audi R8 is also equipped with Audi’s new Magnetic Ride adaptive damping system The Magnetic Ride adaptive damping system consists of electronically controlled dampers which are filled with magnetic fluid. Different currents cause the fluid to have different thickness, so the suspension settings can be adjusted on the fly during driving. Comfort and response is thus optimized. Of course there are manual overrides with some predefined suspension behaviours" R8 FTW!!! TWIN TRUBO WHHHAATTT! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
