MMATS is what everyone around here has. They are the hardest hitting I have ever heard, well...besides the Kicker Solo 18's that I heard in a hummer 1 time, that was life changing and I thought my heart was going to explode.

Yeah, the MMATS are comp grade. If you go to the annual DB drag in Myrtle Beach, SC, that's pretty much all you will see. But just to warn you, everyone that I've seen try to run MMATS 12's or 15's had to use a MMATS amp (also comp grade), because everything else will just fry. Good luck with your audio situation.

As long as the amp and subs RMS ratings are close and the air space of the box matches that of the subs recommended space, I don't think you'll be upset w/ anything you get. I think everyone's pumped about their first audio set up no matter what it is. I say match everything up right, including your price range, and enjoy it

If you have to, get you a set of used MMATS, even used they play brand new. One of my friends still has a setup (2 - 12's, and 1 - 1,500 watt amp) from when we were in 10th grade and that was like...2000 and he still uses them in comp's. The MMATS aren't made to be disposable speakers. I really think you will be happy with the MMATS IMO, but it's whatever you choose and just match up the Ohm's as close as you can get with you HU, speakers, and amp, and get the right size box and you will be set to beat. Search around ebay/crutchfield/ubid.com/buy.com and you will find something...just whatever you do, don't get your audio from Walmart.

****!!! $170 for 2 MMATS p2.0 12's? You better grab that before he comes to his senses! You want 2 ohm's, and a 2 channel D-class amp, but for the 12's, you shouldn't get anything less than 1500 watts. And whatever you do, wire them right, don't use one of the little Modulator's that hook to your rear speakers in the back. But try your best to get the amp at 2 ohms, your speakers at 2 ohms and your HU at 2 ohms. And if you want your system to sound the best with the highest tweets and the lowest bass, get yourself a mp3 player. I got the Zune 30 gig, and I won't go back to CD's again!

just one thing to think about. if you need 1500 watts rms to run 2 MMats, you might go over your budget. its hard to find a good amp that actually puts out that much power at 12.6 or even 14.4. you cant just walk into a normal store and buy an amp that powerful. thats gonna take a big a*s expensive amp. not to mention with 1500 watts, and nothing done to your alternator, and no cap, your gonna have major dimming and maybe some voltage issues.
just some food for thought. as far as Rockford goes, i'm not really a big fan. i wouldnt buy any of there punch stuff, maybe something from there power line, i'm just not a big fan.

Rockford redesigned their P1's which look a lot better. Plus they are really affoardable subs.

just a word to the wise, and i dont know if i'm just really lucky, or if this has happend to others, but i bought 4 kicker amps about 2 years ago. of the 4, 2 are messed up. one wont turn on anymore, and the other is just flat out dead. the 3rd my buddy has to run a sub, and the 4th is under my bed in the box, so i dont know if it still works or not. 2 amps going bad in 2 years isnt very good. so if i were you i'd streer away from kicer amps.

i was making a point thats its just the generic brands on ebay....
does this sound about right:$200 MMATS p2.0 12' subs (2) ~$50 for box ~$40 monster cable 4g amp kit $250 for a 1500w amp ~$40 bass cap $220 pioneer 5900ib head unit...already installed $120 9613i infinity 6x9s...already installed would that make a pretty good system? and all the stuff under the subs would be off of ebay....

question. why are you getting a 1500 watt amp? those subs are 350 rms a piece. last time i checked 350x2 = 700 watts. not 1500. but thats a good thing cause you wont have to get a amp that big. which means you will save some money. it also means you wont need a cap. which again will save you more money.

cuz like the guy said that sells them said that its good to have a more pwrful amp to drive em cuz they are comp grade and u want enough pwr. I dont get it, id jsut think that something like a 1000w amp would be good. ill ask more details later.

once and for all.....would a bass cap for a ~1000w max 2ch amp make the bass hit harder and sound better while also helping my electrical system? or is it more harm than good... Ive heard both ways; BADDDD and GOOOOOD. so wat is it
