I was looking at the last pic and was thinking "why did he put a slightly blurry picture of his street up with no car in it?" Then I realized it was the reflection very nice!

One thing i will say is doing this seemed to amplify the "orange peel" look. Its really hard to notice but when looking under the light it is noticable. Is this normal?

NXT is a great sealant, hard to beat IMO.

Unfortunately orange peel is normal, especially on factory paint jobs. The reason *you* especially see it is becuase of the paint being black. It refracts the light just right making the OP stand out more, thats also why swirls/marring/scratches ect stand out more on black.

i love detailing but my paint is in such bad shape right now that im not even thinking of doing ANY of this stuff. But i love love love having my paint as nice as possible. Good detailing can make any car stand out IMO. GREAT JOB!
I have the exact same car too...but like i said, the paint is in horrible condition due to many reasons outside of my control (ie. crappy body shop)

on the autopia website there is a pic of like a 80's pickup with rediculously faded red paint. After the pc, it looked almost brand new. Give it a shot.

I have been following this thread and I am considering getting the porter cable. I currently use one of the cheap Black and Decker polishers and it is not worth the effort, I end up having to do everything by hand.

Not being experienced using a power polisher, is it possible to seriously damage the finish thru normal use?

No, the machine is stupid easy. It would take ALOT of effert to damage your paint. The only way i could see anyone damage their paint is if they used a 4" cutting pad and a heavy cut polish/compound, even then you would still have to try to damage your paint deliberately.
