I bet they keep it for quite some time.... they always had a lowend grand am and the sunfire, so why wouldn't they have a low end g6 and the g5.

I didn't say no market.... I just meant the large car market isn't what it was 5-10 years ago. IMO, Pontiac is going to have a hard time getting people to think of the G8 as a luxury, that's all. If they can, then they have a great car. If not.... well, then it's another large car that has a lot of power. Get my drift?

Unless you can get a great deal on a G6, I would rather take the Nissan Altima V6 or the Mazda6 V6 any day.

I'd take the G6 over any other midsize simply because it looks better. Besides what other midsize can you get a panoramic roof on (excluding the Malibu and Aura because they are the same thing and really shouldn't exist IMO)

Anyway I didn't say it was perfect just liked the direction they were going. No more mini-van for one thing. Pontiac should of never had a mini-van.

Now I think they could push it even more by dropping the Vibe, and Restyling and upgrading the powertrain on the torrent and G5.

My idea for the G5 is offer the base model with the 2.4 ecotech. Make it standard but not necissarily the GT. Price it slightly above the base colbalt, add some "standards" like spoiler, foglights, 16 inch basic alloys, and restyle using design cues from the 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. Maybe even bring the "sunfire" name back or something else relative to a compact pontiac. Speaking of sunfire, why not bring back the signature 360 degree vents from the sunfire/grand am for the model? Also offer a GXP model but price it higher than the Colbalt Supercharged SS, and make its powertrain the turbo ecotech from the Solstice GXP.

I liked the G5 at first but the more I look at them the more aggravated i get. Its a colbalt with a pontiac grill on it. Thats all it is, and this is the type of ish GM said they were done with! The G5 needs to evolve to the rest of the line up or become extinct!

Anyway as for the sports car I think a lightened 2 door coupe version of the G8 known as the "GTO" will surface shortly after the camaro is released. But maybe they should take it a step further and offer a "judge" version with the 7.0 liter V8 from the Z06!

The Torrent is leaving the Pontiac Line-up at the end of Model year, Going soley to the GMC line-up.

I didnt even think they made the Vibe anymore.

I dont understand why pontiac is going with the one letter and number routine. I think its kinda stupid if you ask me. Keep the trademark names.

I really wish Pontiac had a research/design team instead of taking a car platform from amother sub group of gm and rebadging it

Trying to change their image...when I think grand am, sunfire, bonnieville quality isnt the first thing that comes to mind. The G6, G8, and even the G5 is a step above the previous models they dont want people to associate them with the GM of old.

I really like the G6 GXP, very nice car. The only thing I don't like is the very tall grill on the front...a little too much Chrysler 300M for me.

Looks like it. I have only ever seen a hand full of aveo's on the road before.

When I first was looking for a car, a GM dealer was really trying to push me to get one. He's like your straight out of college, you can't afford a better car than that. I just laughed and walked away. Little did he know I was a month savings away from buynig a mazda6 or speed6.... then my car crapped out and I had to hurry and find something.....

Anyway... back on topic, I agree, I hope I don't see these pop up in the US, but if I have only ever seen a handful of Aveo's on the road, I can't imagine GM would put out a second version of this pile of poo...

Well anyway I had to take the Cav to get the stock MP3 deck I bought off ebay reprogrammed and while i was waiting on it I had a chance to look at the new pontiacs. I have to admit, the G5 does look pretty good next to the G6's. The interior is nice too. I think with a little more individuality the G5 could be a good car. Honestly, since the Ion kinda resembles the old sunfires a bit, maybe they should of based it off that instead of the colbalt... maybe an Ion without suicide doors would look better in the line up

Those are some of the fugliest cars I've seen on the road. The Ion is the best looking one there.
