Actually, now that I think about it...the saying "too each his own" is kind of overrated because in reality...you want people to like your car.

Personaly... I dont think they look good at all. To edgy, to curvey. In my opinion you want a wheel that has a look of sportyness... not "bling".

But... it is your car, if you like them, thats all that matters! I mean, after all... look what I drive.

bingo.

in all honesty, I can't tell you what any of the rims I have purchased look lke from outside my car driving down the road!

Why do people buy rims? To make their car look "cool" in their opinion for OTHERS TO SEE AND LIKE. If you think that is false, you either A) can somehow watch your car existentially as you drive it. B) like to spend money on things you cannot take part in.

You're damn right I built my RX7 for others to see and like. If it was only for me, I wouldn't touch it and just use it to hold down my garage floor. Oh wait....that's what it does anyway LOL

It not that bad, but it wouldnt be my first, second or third choice.
Plus I really hate rims w/ center caps.

it wouldn't have even been a choice for me...

How come not chrome and be a little more stereotypical, and go with the DUBs. Honestly they are gonna look horidous on a GA.

Next thing you know, we're gonna see a GA with an 18 inch lift on super swampers from some guy in the bayou.

Exactly, this is why i hate it when people say "its your car, who cares what others think". Fact of the matter is it does matter what others think.

There will always be things others dont like but when the vast majority looks at your ride and they all point out the same thing/s that they dont like then that should be a clue that those things have to go.

This is why i removed all the yellow from my car, the vast majority did not like it.

while i can agree, i think this mostly applies to the average car owner. i think in the case of show cars whose only purpose is to look good and never be driven, it is the other way around. we've all seen the pictures of hideous show cars before, where they are built by the owner to look how the owner wants them to look, regardless of public opinion (kind of stupid imo, but thats the way the cookie crumbles).

my cousins kinda did that to an older bonneville, they put it on a 4x4 frame, but it's lifted FAR more than 18"..pics are in my cardomain, last page iirc.

i have to disagree, heavily. for instance, do you keep your car clean because of what others think of it? from my understanding of our convo's about detailing i would say "no" to this question. you keep it clean because YOU like a clean car. some people would say you are out of hand with the cleaning, possibly accuse you of obsessive compulsive disorder because of your excessively clean car, but you don't care because you like it that way, right? (btw as a fellow detailer, i like it that way too..but im into detailing unlike the average driver)

the only time it TRULY matters what others think is when your car is a show car and you are trying to win contests entirely upon the showmanship of your vehicle. unfortunately like i noted above in my reply to bob, alot of show cars are tackier than all hell.

your average driver who drives down the streets, sure they want to turn heads, but at the same time they want to appreciate their car more than everyone else. if you build your car for others, you will never appreciate it yourself. build it for yourself and you will always be happy with it, regardless of what others have to say.

thats my .02

Actually its 50/50, i get great personal enjoyment from detailing but nothing makes me happier than when someone comments on how clean/shinny/wet my car looks and makes no mention of my mods.

Then stay with the stockers. Rims = less comfort and more sport/bling.

You gotta make a decision, do you want to be comfy or look good. The idea to buy smaller rims to save some comfort but still look good is a sure fire way to get the worst of both worlds. You'll have decreased ride comfort with after market rims, AND you'll get ridiculed for not buying bigger ones.

Congratulations on your purchase, lose lose big guy.

For the record I would say this about any 17inch rims you got but those are not good.

I kinda see what some of you guys are saying.
But even though one doesnt really care much on the opinions of others, negative comments still offend people.
Just like if someone says your kid is hidious but you dont think so, you still would be offended. Maybe you should change his hairstyle

i somewhat proved my point though, because im sure you enjoy hearing their compliments, it feeds that there ego thingamajiggy,

you get satisfaction from the clean car and from their compliments, but obviously you don't keep it clean JUST to impress others. you guys were implying that you should mod a car based off of what impresses others more than what satisfies the car owner, obviously this isn't true.

I do agree that you should do things that you like too, but if the majority of people think it looks bad then you probably shouldnt do it unless you are capable of handling lots of negative feedback.

The thread title is "what do ya'll think." We are merely stating what we think. The majority here seem to dislike it. If it really matters what we think that put them on eBay if you can't get your money back.
