i didn't pick up the slicks.. they were on ebay for $9.99 but the seller never responded to questions like how much is shipping, what's the brand of the tire and the auction stated they were new but they looked like they were used/retreaded (if you can retread slicks..) here's a link.. someone else picked them up though.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2281768&rd=1,1

No, you can't retread slicks. There's no tread on them. Anyway, their construction means when they are worn out they are done. You don't re-use competition tires.

Checked the link and they definitely look used. They also look like road racing slicks, not drag slicks. The size they give is 225/60-16. Road racing slicks would be a size like that, but drag slicks are measured in inches not mm.

Oh yeah... there are other differences but the basic of it is the road racing slicks have stiffer sidewalls because they have to hold cornering forces. The drag slicks have softer sidewalls because they are supposed to "twist" around the wheel sorta to take up the shock of acceleration without breaking traction. The tires have high grip up to the point where they slip, then you lose a lot more grip than the actual traction limit. If you've ever seen slow motion video of a dragster launch you know what I mean. The big rear slicks are so flexible they expand outward with speed so they actually grow taller and change drive ratio in the top end like adjustable gearing.
