White, Black, Silver???
Hey all, I am new to the forums and its great to be here. I've always loved the Grand AM GT's and I've finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase one. I know of 3 different '03 models that are in very similar condition and mileage (GM buybacks) but I can't seem to decide which colour to get. So i guess I would get opinions from those who know GAGT's better than anyone......owners themselves. Anyways the cars are Silver, Black, and White (I'm leaning towards the white because of the specialty rims) but the dealer said I could swap wheels with any of the other 2 if I like another colour. Your help is appreciated cause I can't make up my mind....Haha. Thanks in Advance
ps......if the mods could help me I don't know how to set up a poll. Thanks Last edited by Migs; 04-06-2007 at 01:26 PM. |

Black if your plans are to heavily mod the exterior. Im bias towards white because it seems to hold up better over time than the other color GA's Ive seen on the roads in CA. If you hate washing Silver /grey is the way to go then white, then black..

Black is a pain to keep clean. Silver FTW! (I'm also bias).

i vote black!! black can be a sexy color.. just have to keep it clean..
you're going to get a different answer from everyone.. in the end, it's still your choice.. search around the boards and cardomains for pics of what people have done to their GAs to get more of idea of what you could do with yours.. |

![]() I'm going to pick it up next Wednesday and I'm already thinking about what I got planned for it. definately the first thing on the agenda is new taillights. I'm kinda leaning towards these ones but if anyone knows of some better ones on the market I'd love to hear about it. |

are you aware of some of the common problems of the GA, some added to stuff to check out? like if the LIM has been replaced, and maybe check to see if the window regulators have been replaced. it looks like that might be an 03+ so it should have the updated lim gasket but i do believe those have failed before. just FYI.

Welcome.
![]() Nice choice. Personally, I'm not a fan of aftermarket tails but if I had to choose a set for a white GT I'd go with black TYCs. If you plan on tinting the windows I'd just tint your stockers. I just did mine and I love the look over any aftermarket ones. |

yeah, if you search a bit you can find some info about the LIM. i think theres a sticky too. as for the year, you could ask him, heh. but IIRC, in 02.5 they didnt put the side badges on. like i said they changed it in 03. some people have had their GT's for awhile with no LIM issues and there have been people who have gotten lemons and replaced there LIM like 3 times. not to steer you away from the car, but since you havent bought it yet, just want to keep you informed.

Just get whichever has the fewest miles if you don't really care- Black looks good, but it will be a PITA to keep clean and scratch free as other have mentioned. I assume since you're in Canada you probably don't exactly have rainless and snow-less weather, so silver might be best.
