Nonsense. I just saw a Type R Civic the other day

Honda's always suck when it comes to torque. Its almost like a trademark... in fact I think the SI is like 205hp/125 ft llbs/torque

Eh... What we need is for Honda to drop the new turbo 2.4 out of the RDX into the Civic. Sell it for ~24 grand, call it the Type R or CRX or whatever, it would be a hell of a fun car.

The "Type R" mark, while its not necessarily Honda's fault, needs to be dropped like a stone. It has been absolutely mauled to a bloody pulp then maimed to death by rycers and teenagers everywhere who feel they need a damn sticker on the back of their 1988 Honda Civic 4-door with their 3 $1k-a-piece chrome wheels and the one spare tire that was their mothers' grocery-getter for 4 years, then sold on the corner lot for $650 by a guy named Big Al's Honest Auto Sales.
Note to Honda: I know its not your fault, but lose the Type R moniker.

So true. Honestly until this remake of the Civic I hated them, and not because of their design or anything, just because I am sick of seeing these POS 4 door boxy civics with Indy Car wings and 20 inch rims, underbody glow and bass so loud it shakes your car! Not honda's fault either, civics are great, but so abused... But then again I drive a Cavalier which around here is almost as bad. |

I'd rock it that would be a fun daily commuter that you'd easily get 10+ years out of, honda probably didn't want to go FI b/c the ricer fanbase will be buying this car and they don't want to deal with the morons blowing up their engine

I like the Type R hatch over in Europe right now a lot better. Actually their Civic in general is a lot nicer than ours is. Actually, ****, most of Europes cars > our cars.

The European Civic hatch is not as nice as the coupe that we get in the States. The hatch is actually derived from the Fit/Jazz platform and uses that cars solid rear axle. The US coupe is the better car except for the hot engine.
