Bettman has screwed up the league and game so much...
and he never sticks to one opinion on things. They've done so much to rid the game of fighting and now they've finally listened to the people and are saying that fighting should be allowed. I mean, have you seen the new ads that are incorporated with the movie 300??? Talk about barbaric!!!

I don't care much about hocky, don't watch much of hockey, and honestly maybe I'd care if Indy had a real team other than the minor league "ice", but I never even know fighting was allowed in the NHL, and its redicolous that it is. IT really makes me frown upon the sport even more. They allready have one sport that uses fighting to draw fans in, and its called Professional Wrestling. If thats what it takes to keep hockey going, than they obviously are doing something wrong!

But then again maybe they should allow fighting in more sports, like say basketball for instance. Who knows, the Pacers might have 3 rings by now if the NBA allowed it. :-P

How about you stop staring at everyones "internet penises" and read the article. Yea, people disagree. But the majority who are opposed to fighting in the NHL don't even care about the sport in the first place. They know nothing about the sport and say "Hey, fightings allowed? Well thats barbaric. They should ban it." Who cares what their opinion is if they weren't even interested in the sport in the first place. For all of those who dont like fighting in hockey, just a FYI...God made this thing called a remote control, it allows you to control what you watch. So if you dont like it, CHANGE THE FOCKING CHANNEL.

Well anyway all I did was state my opinion that I think its stupid that they fight in hockey. Whether they do anything about it or not, well thats their choice, either way its not going to get me to watch untill Indy gets an NHL team.

Pretty sad when people can't give their opinion without everyone else crying and saying everyone who dissagrees with them is an idiot because they dont understand the game.

Well, I understand the game, I watch hockey, and I still think it should be banned, and that is my opinion, I realize you think differently and thats your opinion.... its time you guys let it go and accept the fact that people have a different opinion than you, and that it doesnt make someone who dissagrees with you any less of a person, you all need to grow the hell up...

Im not sure why I even bother visiting this site anymore anyway... its full of a bunch of cry babies that have nothing better to do that pick on each other anyway... they fell to important to help new people get information, so they flame them... most of you don't even have grand ams any more, the only reason you keep coming back here is because no other forums will allow you to act as immature as you do here.

Solution: Ban threads with opinions.

No but really whenever an opinion is asked on here, there's always someone who completely disagrees and that's fine..but it seems as if they make so much of an effort just to show that they truely think the person is wrong. From there on is just posts about how everyone has their own opinions. Not that I've been here long enough to have a say but it seems like more people should accept and respect other's opinions rather than bash on them because you know they're just going to bash back.


Anyways.. banning fights, like stated earlier, would lose a tremendous amount of viewers and they've already lost enough with the new rules.

As far as I'm concerned... most sports are already being tainted. Hockey is the last "genuine" sport. What better way to resolve issues than to leave it all out on the ice with a fight. I love hockey, and if you go anywhere else in the world away from the majority of ignorant americans here, they'll agree - our sports are a joke to the world's. The NFL is going to turn into the NFFL - National Flag Football Leage. People that consider that a contact sport are crazy. It used to be, but now you can't do anything or hit anyone. To me, that's a joke. The NBA is too thug for it's own good. That is the two main sports in this country (as I definitely do not consider NASCAR a sport, rather a fast billboard going around in circles), so we're left with hockey, baseball, and soccer. All of which are very popular around the world. Leave things how they are.

You make alot of good and interesting points. However, alot of the changes they have made are to protect those that are playing the sport, and are not made based on viewer interests (I.E. NFL & Nascar). While I agree, alot of the changes over the years in the NFL have taken away from the sport, I would much rather see the guys walk way at the end of the day to play again. Yeah, they are getting paid alot of money to do what they do, but there are certain risks they shouldnt be asked or forced to take.

You said fighting in hockey was just poor sportsmanship. Its not. Some is, but for the most part, it is a checks and balances system. That is a fact as it has been part of the NHL for YEARS. Then you called me an Asshat. Whatever.

Then I state how people who didn't know **** about the sport are the majority that voted for it to be banned in the first place. Now I'm "****ting on everyones opinion". I for one, think you should grow up, get some thicker skin, or go pound sand up your ass on some other forum.


I for one, am very passionate about this topic. I would hate to see voting results like this lead to league officials banning it. Every person that I know that has played the game, understands that it is part of the game. Mark my words.... if they ban fighting... there will be mass injuries of the higher skilled finesse players.
