2003 GT1 Coupe

Hey everyone... I may be selling my car. Kind of a general interest thing... wondering what it's worth. It is a black, 2003 GT1 coupe with 59,000 miles. Everything would be stock - leather, sunroof, power seat, monsoon premium sound, etc. Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks and take care.

I was wondering how accurate kbb was because it doesn't have anything for the GT1. I was hoping the ram air hood and spoiler would be worth something. Also has 30000 miles left on the warranty.

It should be worth more with the SCT package... mine went for a lot more than most GA's, so I couldn't help you. But it is definitely worth more.

I don't have the sct "body kit" though... just the hood and spoiler. Is that all yours had?

I'd say 8000 OBO would be a fair price. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah. Totally stock when I traded it in. If you kept it clean, you should do pretty well with it. The coupes go pretty quickly among younger buyers. I left the tint and "SC/T" badges on the car though, along with the black vinyl I had in the hood scoops.

man, my own GT1 is in such crappy shape that i would love to score a brand new GT1 with the hood and spolier. If i had the cash, id pick one up.
I really like the look of these cars when they are done up....mine is looking pitiful.

LOL yes. It was my first new car back in 2000. I'd take one now at these bargain basement prices as my beater (I now have an 80mile round trip each work day 130km for you ), then buy my Supra or Vette next year when the GTO is up.

and j_goldwood , don't be so sure it is You're talking about a 4 year old, multi-million unit manufactured, economy car. $6k is more than you would get for trade.

AMRAAM... I've always been able to get at least kbb trade-in value for my cars. It shows the car now is worth $8425 and that's without the SC/T package.

NascarNate... what does LIM mean?

Lower Intake Manifold. It's a very common and expensive problem on these engines.

KBB is about as accurate as I am at guessing snowfall in Siberia.

Take it from the people that have actually sold these cars- they aren't worth what they should be!

Bob- You'll never go 2 full years without a GA will you

Working at a dealer, they trend like this:

Anything 02 and prior, sells off the lot for egh 9-11k with 60-70k miles on the ODO. Tend to trade in the high 6s, depending on condition and depending on how bad we had to make a deal.

Our demographic is pretty good for them as well, so that has alot to do with it.

I would say for an 03 with 59k (which is the national average roughly on miles per year) look to get somewhere around 9 if you sell private party value. 6-7 on trade if you bust the dealers balls enough.

Is the vehicle payed off?

This is all based off of what I have seen in MY area, but everything changes anywhere you go. Atleast you are under 70k, anything above 70k is where people start getting scared off of spending 8k on a car, or so I have noticed.

And if I had the money I'd buy it, I miss my peice of ****, and it seems yours is the same as mine was.

Hey Dr... I guess I haven't had it fixed. Any common problems that would point out it needs corrected? 5-lo, would the 30,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty carry over and how much would that be worth?

big deal. I can give you $10,000 for your trade in, but realistically in the background I am simply taking the amount I WANT TO GIVE YOU, and subtracting that from the $10,000, and then discounting the new vehicle that much. It's a real simple, and often used trick. because as you are showing us, it makes it feel like you, as the customer, are "winning" and getting a "deal".

I guess I have to say this again for the newbs. A used car must be marked up $3000-5000 above the trade value they give it in order to justify their work into getting it back to sellable speed, leave room for negotiating, plus make a worthy profit. An '03 GAGT isn't going to sell for more than $9k realistically. Thus, your trade in is looking at $5000-5500.

Also for the 1,037th time. KBB and NADA are pointless. They mean absolutely nothing. True values are now driven by auto auction prices, because that's what the vehicles are TRULY selling at. You want cheap cars? Go get a dealers license, then attend an auto auction, and you'll be able to get yourself an '04 GTO for probably $12-14k

The old folks here can tell you I know WTF I am talking about. I worked at a dealer for 3 years, have had many cars, my bro-in-law is still a Sales Manager of 16 years now, and my dad a 30+ year GM employee.
