Shelby GT500KR

I never saw this, but I figured i'd post it cause I never heard **** about it. it looks sick!!

Quote:
This morning, Ford announced that the mighty King of the Road Shelby GT500KR will be making a return in the spring of 2008 -- just in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original. Only 1,000 of these special Mustangs will be built, and they will definitely be the fastest ones yet! The team at SVT is tweaking the 5.4L supercharged V-8 with new calibrations, a cold-air induction kit and 3.73:1 final drive ratio. The KR will be rated at 540hp/510lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful Mustang ever.

Imagine how overpriced THESE will be if the GT500 was selling for 75K+.

Amen, but lets do apples to apples

When it comes down too it, GT500KR is still a Mustang, and there isnt anything wrong with that. Z06 is basicaly a race car.

When new Z28/SS Camaro's come out, then we can compare this stuff properly.

IIRC the Shelby versions are just rebadged GTs with a bunch of off the shelf bolt on parts from Ford that anyone and their grandma can buy.

Umm...how'd you come to this comparison?

The GT500KR will be the flagship of Ford "common" cars. The only car higher in the hierarchy is the Ford GT- which in itself isn't really comparable to the Z06 if you look at the price difference. Then let's take a look at the numbers for the KR vs. the Z06. Roughly similar- considering that the KR is going to weigh a notch or two more than the Z06 and be a lot less agile...well, like I said. The Z06 is going to come out on top hands down.

When your logic is a bit more sound please respond...

That thing is badass. The Ford GT is so exspensive because of the fact that everything is done by hand IIRC.

DUH Bukkake-San...but that's not what I was saying. The KR's direct match up vs the other of the Big 2 would be the Z06 and Viper. Would you not agree?

Don't make me bad rep you...

this is old news... i seen the commericial for this a few weeks ago

commercial goes like this...

this white american guy is in germany...standing next to some german guy. They are at a dock...and they unload the american guys car from the ship (car being the shelby)...the german guy says.."why did you bring this car to germany...did you not find any german cars to your liking..?" then they show a montage ..the shelby going head to head with some other cars..audi's..something that looks like a lambo..etc.. and basically creaming them all and speeding down some highway in germany that has no speed limits..then its back the the american guy.
the american guy responds.."no..i just didnt find any roads in america to my liking"

and then the ford logo..bla bla blaf

i'd personally like to have both the z06 and the shelby..

Hey cool. Another version of the Mustang.

However, whomever Ford is using for their advertising department is kicking ass though in terms of Mustang commercials. I haven't seen one I didn't like.

i think it's cool theres a lot of versions of the mustang. Each to his own. The Z06 is just the same Z06 everytime u see it. We have a California Special GT convert and it's dope as hell. Uncle's got the GT500 in red too. I'd buy a stock mustang over any higher car, then just put that extra money into customizing it cause i love it so much.
