Oh God....seriously? This has nothing to do with religion, so lets not open that can.

Here, read this. Its kinda long, but worth it.

Mm..did not know that. Here out in modern civilization/California we don't drive big hunkin' pick ups for efficiency like "ya'll" do. We drive them to see who can fit the biggest rims on'em. Dur.

What trucks do the V8 hybrids come in? I was really impressed with Toyo/Lex V8 hybrid in the 4series.

is the globe warming? Yes. But it is far from proven that it is man made.

What is the biggest CO2 producer on the planet? Volcanoes. millions of parts per million more than any human city can produce, each.

Agreed.

Pontiac needs thsi product desperatly. Now that the 2006 GTO has been discontinued, and no word on a new GTO/Firebird, and with the W-platform continuing to age, Pontiac needs this product desperatly. Its not a 100% sport car, but like you said, you get great build quality and interior + Power for a little over 30k. They'd be stupid to get rid of it at this point, however, since I'm not the only person in the world interested in it. Its already turned a lot of heads, and even a buddy I have at work who hates GM was impressed.

The G8 too me seems close to the "perfect car". Its the perfect blend of a Sports car and a Luxury car. If they plan on producing this, I'll definitly consider it for my next car. Just hope they release it in white

i don't know about the production differences for hydrogen powered cars but i think that should be the next step.. this crap with electric hybrids isn't working... pollute more to make a savings at the gas pump?? the big reason that the hydrogen car wont make it is because, Where do you fill up with hydrogen?? maybe the gov't can work up a deal with the oil companies to install hydrogen pumps in there stations and simultaneously get the automakers to produce the cars.. maybe that'll work.. my guess is that the oil companies wont want to sell less gasoline

Stupid california making up their stupid CO2 rules, giving the rest of the country the idea... I'm all for clean air and stuff but regulating the CO2 AND gas mileage at this point in time when American car makers are poised for a big comeback is a bad move.

Its also a matter of creating the infrastructure required to support hydrogen fueled vehicles and a matter of finding a cheap reliable method of producing the hydrogen. At this point with current technology its not plausible.

4 series? What are you reffering to. The hybrids that Toyota builds are: Prius, Highlander, Camry, Lexus RX, Lexus GS, and Lexus LS.

GM had a hybrid Silverado, but is now working on the GMT 900 version. Currently sold is the Saturn VUE. Next year will see a hybrid Malibu, Tahoe, Yukon, new VUE, and possibly Saturn Aura.

Since I've said most of them, the other hybrids on the market are: Honda Civic and Accord (the Insight is dead). Nissan: Altima. Ford: Escape and Mariner.

Chrysler and BMW also have hybrids on the way.

Who Give's a Fock! Bush won't be in Office in 2017 Nor will His CAFE crap actaully work.

All CAFE is going to do is Push the price of the Vehicle up and every other dam thing, Ie Food etc.

The Pump price Drops alittle, but everything else raise's. So WTF's the Point.

Hybird Hybird Hybird, People actaully think this crap is going to be in every single Car/Truck out there?!? Get Serious Uncle sam and ur local state Gov't enjoy there Profit From Fuel being 2-3-4 Dollar's a gallon.

Look at this way state of New York,They pay 45 Cents a gallon in taxes.

U get Fuel Freindly car's/truck's that can get 30-40-50mpg, Uncle sam Won't let it happen. U fill up less, They make Less Profit.

So then ur Property Taxes can go sky high. Its a giant Circle.

I haven't read over the entire thread but this is my opinion.

In a way, I feel bad for GM because they were finally coming out with some high performance vehicles to contribute to the "Muscle Car Is Back" era which started in 03/04. Now it's 07/08 and it's too late, ONCE AGAIN. They keep missing the god damn boat.

Now on the other hand, the government should have considered all this back in the day anyhow if they were so concerned with gas mileage and global warming. They shouldn't have even let the trend start up again if they were so anal. But now, it's a combination of the war, imported oil, foreign relations and the ever-so-popular Global Warming.

This might sound ignorant to say, but it's April and it's snowing. Mother Nature rotates in cycles. Every 50-60 years it changes upwards or downwards. This was discussed in the "Austrailia Bans Candescent Light Bulbs" thread I started a while back. It's been documented that the weather changes in cycles.

Ultimately, our problem lies within our economy, and the government constantly pointing fingers instead of taking action. Instead of Congress constantly pushing the blame on Bush, and Bush blaming it on Terrorism and societies damage to the world, we need a liveable and reliable solution. If any industry needs to be pressured, it's the oil industry, PERIOD. I stand behind my opinion on this.

Granted, MPG isn't much better from 20 years ago, this has been said here as well. And they should have worked towards improving it back a while ago. But face it, we like what we like. You don't see the Aussies bitching while they're driving their 400hp RWD sedans and coupes. It's a way of life over there! Instead, they're reducing their damaging effect on the earth in other ways (ie. light bulbs, other economical changes). To change the way cars are here, is too strong of a change and too sudden. Things would ultimately spiral out of control. We'd lose all trust and faith in our country and government. I think things should be put into policy in different states compared to the ENTIRE country as a whole. High traffic areas should be pushing high MPG/low pollution vehicles where heavy transit can cause heavy damage. We all know California lost it's sight of the blue sky YEARS ago. How come? Why so bad over there, compared to other heavier industry areas in MI and TX?

There are alot of things that can be done, but I think people just want to push the blame on someone and walk away from their responsibilities. Alot of money and personal finance is at stake for the politicians, and personally they're ****ing us over in ways we never fathomed.

I guess thats what happens when you put a business man in office with a personal agenda. He needs to GTFO.

Thanks for the enlightenment, but we all know that volcanoes spew C02 into the atmosphere as well as underwater thermal vents. These are natural elements causing destruction but we just add more to the effect. Keep adding water to an already full cup, it will over flow (metaphorically speaking).

It's good to see that even in times of distress I can count on my life partner...

Bob does his part in preventing CO2 pollution by pushing back any and all gaseous AND solid waste byproducts that may be released from men's asses.
