Wow, never knew so many people hated the Monte's! I don't like the redesign & current styling. I do like our 01 Monte.... but then again it has the L67 so there is a ton of aftermarket and as you can see from the signature Adam had it making some decent power.

If it is a car you don't like are you going to tell your dad? I would hate to drive a car everyday that I absolutely hated! Any other cars he has mentioned, or ask him for some more hints! Good Luck, hope it's a good surprise!

Talk about an ugly, waste of garbage. Funny thing is, RAZE actually told him that to his face back then "Wait, so let me get this straight. You actually thing this car looks good? It's hideous, and no one is going to buy this"
That's funny how you remember it word for word. It's true though. I wasn't going to tell him something the car is not.

And for the Monte, it is a crap compilation of scrap metal and auto parts. It has failed to keep up with times. If I didn't know anything about cars, I'd think the 2006-2007 was a 1998-2000.

Whaaaaaaaaaaa

Well I know for a fact the G6 is gone... I tried to pry the answer out of my dad in an email; I asked if the G6 was gone and if the Monte replaced it- he said "yes" to the former and "maybe" to the latter... I guess I have to just wait and hope for the best at this point.

Still trying to elicit answers from my mom via AIM... she says whatever it is, its a similar color to the G6- was there a dark gray GTO by chance?::crosses fingers::- my dad keeps assuring me I "will love it" ... I am supposed to be focused on finals now, but this whole debacle is taking up all my mental capacity- it could either be tragic or awesome.

Ha, well at earliest I would assume next weekend, because my parents are coming to visit. My birthday is this weekend, but since I have finals like no ones business on Monday, I told them we will celebrate next week. I think I can either get them to drive it here, or at least tell me on the 21st. If not, I am going to have to wait until the focking 28th

I am literally dying inside to know though (even though I am 99% sure its a Monte).

Well, I guess your dad officially hates you. He took a car that he knew would sell (your G6) and gets to offload a turd that nobody wanted for an entire year. I give him credit for trying to make it like you're getting a better deal, but you got screwed.

See he would only trade the car without asking me if he knew I would absolutely love his choice (which is why I brought up a GTO- there is no way I would object to him trading the GTP for the GTO). Thats why this is throwing me through a loop. All I can think of is that he just read my reactions differently than I intended; he mentioned a couple weeks back that there were some left over Montes, some nicely loaded LTZ's and I was like, "oh those are kinda cool" but I didn't mean for me... I meant for like... people in general, or maybe even as a first car. I knew he kind of wanted to get rid of the GTP since it was a stick and no one else (besides me and him) could drive it in my family, and because it had a lot of miles relative to its age. I can see that if he had the choice to get a brand new loaded LTZ with no miles in place of the GTP with ~14000miles, he would take it...but again, only because he thought I was interested in it. If he just wanted to sell the GTP and get a deal on a new car, he would have done it with the Cobalt SS/SC a month back. I don't know, I guess I'll find out in a week or so, it just sucks because I really liked the G6 and was starting to think nothing else compared to it in GM's FWD lineup.

I finally worked Dad over; here are some crappy pictures taken by the dealership:

Options the G6 didnt have:
-Remote start
-Side impact airbags
-blacktie radio (with MP3 player input!!!11!!)
-built-in garage door opener (I always leave mine in another car)

It's loaded, so all is not lost; Car will definitely receive tint this summer, and if I don't get a sport bike rims may happen. If the V8 WAI fits on the car, that may happen too. If I am feeling adventurous, something in the vinyl department will happen to the headlights. That is all I can think off the top of my head, I am going to avoid turning the car into a money pit. I actually have decided I have no problem with the car, I will just have to do some work to add to the cool factor. I am actually kinda of happy it has a 4 speed Auto (with low gearing), because I was not a fan of the gearing in the G6- it should also be good for some extra mileage.

Certaintly not anyone's first choice here on the forum, but if you're not paying a dime for it, then who cares.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to try and fix this summer with some vinyl on the headlights at least, if I can find the right color.
