Blasted GM for only having the CTS-V as a 4 door V8.

In a way, I feel bad for GM because they were finally coming out with some high performance vehicles to contribute to the "Muscle Car Is Back" era which started in 03/04. Now it's 07/08 and it's too late, ONCE AGAIN. They keep missing the god damn boat.
I'm a little confused on this quote... what muscle car is back era are you referring too? Other than the Retro styled Mustang, what else has there been? Only thing I can think of is the GT0, which was a GM. The Challenger won't be out untill the same time the Camaro is, so GM really hasn't missed any muscle car era, unless the mustang is such a good car it can single handingly be an "era' all in its own

The SRT-8 series as well. 400+ HP behemoths.

Perhaps this Muscle is back quote ment "HP is back"

Between the Mustang, GTO, STI, LS2 anything, hell LS3 cars, SRT anything, EVO's, Hemi powered things, Civic Si, AMG, and BMW M cars....there is alot more 'muscle' on the roads right now then there has been in a long time.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but... One of my best friend's family members has worked on cars all his life and knows how to tune the fuel injection systems on some cars (for example, Volvo, I think, is what he has) to get astronomical MPG; however, he only does it for his own car because he knew one other guy that had figured that out and done some kind of news article on it. Shortly afterwards, he was contacted by one of the oil companies, but not sure which one it was, but anyway, he disappeared and he still hasn't been found... If you found a way to get 100mpg out of something, would you be brave enough to tell anyone? I wouldn't

I can't imagine they would, not after putting it on Pontiac's site, announcing its officially coming to the states in early 2008... that would be false advertising

Hmmm... *removes airbags*... *pulls out half of insulation*... *gets jig saw and hacks at chassis and doors*... *Chops roof to reduce frontal area*... Ahh that should do it. Where's my money? Ok, the car is over 300lbs lighter, no longer features a 'rigid body', doesn't have side impact protection nor supplementary restraint, and lacks the headroom it used to have. That should do a lot to improve economy and performance... Oh wait, now it's not much different than where cars were back in 1986 comfort and safety-wise. .

I think cars could do a lot better economy wise, consider all the fat that got thrown on over the years and despite this fuel economy still held or improved. This means the powertrains must have gotten better. If they could do something to seriously trim the pounds, they could boost efficiency and performance with the existing powertrains. The only other valid solution would be to go the hybrid route, but that adds cost and complexity.

G8 was at the NY Auto Show and that was a small show this year.

Nope. Charging $10 these days because I want to make my car a hideous mix of carbon fiber and fiberglass.
