I got mine (stubby rubber) off ebay for like 5 bucks shipped. Anything looks better than the stock antenna.

That's your opinion...I like it A LOT better than the stocker and to me it looks a hell of a lot better than the black rubber one...but if that's what you like, it's what you like, it's your car.

Werd.. My GT is almost all white so to me its a bit tacky to do everything in white.. White on the bottom half of the car black on top...

Sorry to hijack the thread, but how do you think a sharkfin style antenna would look.

I picked one up from walmart for $10. Advertised as short antenna with "built-in" amplifier. It is metal, not rubber.
I just went with a black one as all I really wanted was something shorter.

The shark fin would look hella good, but if you want it to look really nice you would have to take off your stocker and then pull out all that and then patch the hole with some sheet metal and then bondo and then get it primed and painted. Just not worth it IMO. But it would look good if you have the resources to do it.

Oh yeah, if your going to do all that, please just drill a hole and run the wire through it instead of running across your car and into a window...looks really tacky.

How about shark antennas? Like the ones on the new BMW's. Those look badass on a BMW, can they work for a GA?

I shaved my stock antenna and have a hidden antenna from autoloc that I'm installing. I've had it for a while but haven't got around to it yet, probably 'cause I never use the radio. Anyway, it goes on the inside of the rear glass so you don't have anything on the outside body work.

Aaron, I hope you get better reception than I do at present with my Bosch on glass antenna in the rear window.

Don’t get me wrong, it works but I feel it could work better since my reception in the GA is worse than that in the Cavalier with the same antenna installed. This may be due to the type/properties of the foil in between the glass in the GA which may interfere with the signal. I seem to remember issues with this but could be mistaken.

I’ll be replacing my on glass with a roof mounted antenna with AM/FM, DAB & DVB-T all in one. DAB is Digital Audio Broadcast (like Sirius sat. radio in the US) and DVB-T is Digital Video Broadcast-Terrestrial (like using an old UHF/VHF rabbit ears antenna before cable/SAT TV was available). Only thing I’m missing is the GPS & Mobile (GSM) antenna functions but don’t need them at present.

Hope the Autoloc works better than my Bosch does.

Yeah, I'll have to see how it works when I install it. Right now I have no am/fm reception at all so anything will be better. If it's not great I don't really care though since like I said I hardly use it. I've got a 30gb kenwood music keg so I don't even keep cd's in the car and I've got enough music to drive to california and not listen to the same thing twice.
