angrysk8r Gettin' there
Well then I guess I'm just a big ass then for not having a cat on my car. I'm not putting a cat on it because I think it costs too much money just to reduce some emmissions (I couldn't care less about the -2hp or whatever), and because it's just another pita to put on. You can take your higher stance and say I should have some more respect, but the fact is I'm not going to put one on just to satisfy some random people I've never actually met. Say what you want, just know that it's not going to sway me to put a cat on.

If you get caught without a cat in another state, they will tow your car.

I'm sure if he was "caught" in Nebraska, they'd probably do something about it too...

I honestly don't think his removal of his cat is going to get him in trouble, or kill anyone. I would compare it to someone who willingly and consistantly drives over the speed limit. While doing so, they raise the risk of getting themselves in trouble as well as increase the risk of harming others (both which are generally insignificant increases of risk), however they continue to do so. I guarantee you there are tons more people out there consistantly speeding than there are people running cat-less, and there are also astonishing numbers of traffic related deaths that could probably be significantly reduced by people driving slower. Now I must ask, would anyone here waste their breath telling every last person to slow down? and if so, why bother telling someone to put their cat back on when, as far as I know, there are very few or no "emissions related deaths". What I'm trying to say is, it's not worth going beyond informing someone of the side effects of running catless. If someone feels that it is worth going beyond that and preaching, they should probably be raising hell about other more important issues in the world. Thats my .02 cents.

Disclaimer: I in no way, shape, or form support de-catting of cars and in fact do use one myself. However, I must admit I helped angrysk8r with the installation/fabrication of his exhaust, and I feel it sounds beastly with an open downpipe. I also feel that it is a deep and tame grumble with his glasspack on.
