1966 GTO out of storage?

Update 7/14

So the GTO is finally home. We're planning on working on it slowly to bring it back to good shape. The final goal is not going to be a track monster but rather a car that can be reasonably driven on the street and occasionally taken to the track for some fun. I got some vid of her running that I'm uploading as I type. Once its done I'll post it up.

EDIT

Its up.

Heh heh. Well pics will have to wait...I'd at least like to wait until we have the thing out in the open and have at least hosed the heavy dirt and dust off. But I will be taking many pics when we get it here and during the work.

Go to a local airport and get a couple gallons of 100LL (100 octane, low lead).

Local airport being O'Hare... Hmm...I should consider that seeing as how my dad works there as CPD....

Look for a small local airport with less than a 4000' strip. They will have 100LL pumps available. I know lots of guys who run 50/50 mix with that and 93 around here in their mod snowmobiles. Im not sure of the difference between LL and unleaded though. You might to check on that first before you run the stuff through such a nice car.

UPDATE:

My dad and I finally got a chance to do some tinkering on the Goat. The thing hasn't been started or turned over in years (let alone run) so we popped out the plugs, shot some oil in the chambers, and dropped in a new battery. We were able to start it but due to a yet to be fixed fuel delivery issue, it wouldn't run for anymore than a few seconds. I'll be uploading some pics shortly.

Yea the one here was judge orange with black accents and was just amazing. Thats the cool thing about living on post is the amount of older cars that get a lot of care. The parking lot next to me is a fully restored bonneville (unsure of the year but want to say 67 or 68) that is just as pretty

There's just something about the old cars that puts a smile on the face of every enthusiast. Even though we were only able to get the thing running a few seconds at a time it was thrilling. I couldn't help but walk away with a huge smile on my face.

Hah hah. Almost! My dad would probably agree with you. He remarked at how sad it looks and how bad it feels to see it that way. That thing has been sitting around since as far back as I can remember. Heck, we used to play in the thing and call it the batmobile. I'm guessing the last time it was moved was probably well over 12yrs ago when the oil was changed last.
