Major Problem with the new wheels.

I just noticed today that the wheels on the back wobble whenever they spin. it appears as though the center bore of the rim is too small to go over the center hub, so the rims dont hit the back of the drum flush

some people have talked about rims not fitting quite right with drums. rear disk conversion would solve that, heh. until them in not sure what people have done.

Don't forget Black Steel Wheels on the back.

Like all the people (r*cers) who can't afford more than 2-wheels at the time.

you may be able to get some type of center bore adapter off ebay. Search wheel spacers.

I checked most of the junkyards here in calgary with no luck of finding a rear assembly.

so i went down to MOPAC which is our performance store here in calgary. I told em i need 5mm spacers, and they said they wouldnt sell them to me because i dont have enough thread on the bolts.

anyways i drew a quick diagram of my situation. Basicly the wheel bore fits over the wheel hub, but theres a little lip on the inside of the wheel that prevents it from going all the way to the end, and resting against the drum.

I just talked to my dad and he sudgested wheel spacers and some large wheel studs.

getting new rims is not an option. I spent all of my savings on these, plus i like them too much to get rid of them.

well i only went to one place because most of the other ones are closed saturday. and they didnt have any. Ill try a few more places i guess, i was just looking for a temp fix so i can drive to school/work on monday.

Plus i have no idea how much its gonna cost and when ill be able to get this done (time wise)

Driving around with 2 steelies in the back is really quite embarrasing.

because it will break my heart to see the rims sitting on the floor. Especcilly now when its Hot and not snowing out.

but i think that may be my only option.

Ill duct tape one to the roof to show everyone that i DO have rims

I had the same problem... get a spacer (1/4"). It stopped the wobble.

when i put my rims on, they were making my drums wobble and make an ugly noise. the spacers fixed it. o as a temp fix i put a thick washer in each of the bolts.

whats funny is that most cars i see with only two new rims (either the other two are stock or some other aftermarket rim) are civics and accords...

but i had the same issue with my car when i got my new rims...but that was only for a week as the next week i did a drum-to-disc conversion.
