hi, im gonna be installing the rest of my system in a few days and was wondering if its ok to hook up a battery charger to my battery to keep it charged up while im doing this so, one i dont go dead and two i dont have to keep the car running for 2 hours. i have just a regular charger not a special one or anythng. so will this work ok? thanks

wait, so you think you need power to do the install? maybe you are talking about tuning it??? you need to clarify.
you dont need to run the power to do the install, and i havnt seen many systems that need two hours of tuning.

you should have the battery disconnected while hookin your system up...i always thought that was a no brainer?

disconnect the negative terminal before you do any audio install just to be safe. if you plan on tuning it, then i suppose it will ok if u had it on a 2 amp trickle charge or maybe a 5 amp slow charge

i mean not to hook it up with, but to keep some kind of power in my battery while im "playing around" with it. sorry about bein unclear

ok, i thoguht i heard running a battery charger causes interference or sometign with car audio equipment. so its ok? and yes, gas is toooo expensive plus it cant be good to have a car idle for 45+ mins you know.

yea but the problem is you get road noise in the vehicle and then your tuning wont be set right. and its unsafe

well i meant as a set the gain and get all that stuff set right can i just have a bettery charger hooked up to "save" my battery "wear and tear" haha stupid idea ok! haha

I agree with ancona. You're gonna use barely any gas. You definitely don't need 2 hours though unless you're completely anal about it I guess.

hahahahaaha true true, i guess i over thought on this one guys. i was just under the impression that a "Regular" battery will only last like 10 mins on amps.
