I was thinking something sorta like this for lateral links. http://www.jic-magic.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=12

They have locking turnbuckles in the middle of the arm so you can also use them to adjust toe and camber settings.

Id have to see the stock setup before I could guess on design. Thats about what I had in mind for the trailing arms though unless its too expensive or I can find a better route for the money.

Trailing arms keep the rear tires from moving front to back. Lateral arms keep it from moving side to side.

Like everone else has said, the stock setup is a multilink - a strut located by two lateral links and a trailing link. All links are stamped steel with rubber bushings.
If I had my druthers, I'd like to see tubular chromoly lniks with greaseable poly bushings (preferably via zerk fittings).

Sorta like the BMR stuff that costs 500 bucks for a grand prix? When does price become a factor?

Sort of....the adjustability is not necessary. Weight savings and suspension control are where it's at.

Well, i don't think weight savings is going to happen when you compare thin U shaped junk to quality parts that won't bend or flex much if any.

Mmm-kay.....although I'm sure TCE could produce some swanky billet lateral and trailering arms, I don't know how strong they'd be. What ideas do you have?

Not my field of expertise so I won't pretend like I know what the best setup is for your application. The BMR seem like overkill to me for all the street applications. Maybe for a real racing setup like auto x. The GMPP trailing arms with poly inserts worked well on my 91 GP so that type of design is where I would start on them. I didn't race it. For racing, id like to check the mounts on the car itself and see what you are bolting up to. I guess making the car's mounts the weak point beats making it the part itself but for all out there would have to be some serious changes made. I know people who could figure that all out but that becomes purely a factor of money.

I am open to any and all suggestions. When it is closer to time that we can get the parts made, however that will be, I will take the ideas from here into account. No point in making something no one wants. I am not too concerned about needing a minimum order other than price requirements at the specific product level. I don't want to limit ideas at this point.

ok so here are the pics of the susp parts asked for. 2 bars are lateral bars, used for adjusting toe on fact susp. the single bar aimed toward rear is the trailing arm.

Is that a drum brake?! Different trailing arms than w bodies for sure and the laterals are a different design as well. Defiantly need a set to measure.

CUSTOMGAGT2000SEDAN Still kinda new, but learning
speaking of the alum front lower control arms. is there anything wrong with the alum versions or something ? i ask because why did they change them ? and can i put them on my 2000 GAGT ? they would be lighter and cleaner looking any other benefits or bad things about them?

well after seeing the thread about ES possibly making urethane stock replacement bushings for our cars I figured I would bring this thread back from the dead since I cant stand to see that once we CAN have things made people just seem not to care about them anymore... but as soon as those same people finally want something they complain that there isnt anything available for our cars.. can we say WTF???

in any case maybe now that it has been brought back up and it is warmer some people may be willing to show interest in this...

I need to talk to phil and marc, since phil did have some suspension parts to take measurements from. TCE has been busy but I will see how it looks to get something new developed.
