That's what I have. I have two 500 watt halogen work lights on a tripod shining in the pics. Should I put the flash on the camera too?

Its easy.
Put your halogens on whatever panel you want pics of. You can have the lights from 3ft to 10 feet away from the panel. With your camera and tripod turn your flash *off* (your halogens provide enough light). Put the camera 2ft-5ft away from the panel and make sure your zoomed all the way out, dont zoom in. Then just take a pic. Try different variations of that until you get the pic you want. It might take 10-100 pics to just get 1 decent one. I took 150+ pics of the car i just did and i only have 20 that are worth anything. Dont bother doing it on light colored cars, the human eye can barely pic up the imperfections so the camera is gonna have a real real real hard time.

if you wanna take some good before and after pics put a piece of tape down a pannel and only do half, take the tape off, then your left with a perfect line of before and after. I try to do this on every car i do so i can see/have proof of the improvement.

After using the PC to polish, is it normal to then apply the wax by hand, or should I use the PC for that, too? What's the process if by PC (which pad)?

I dunno the process with the PC but wax you can apply by hand no problem. The PC will just make shorter work of applying the wax and taking it off.

I do it by hand because most everything ive ever tried using has put swirls in the paint, or made the wax oily and hard to take off. refering to a wax applicator or the PC respectivly
Doing it by hand takes a long ass time and uses a bit more product but i think its well worth it.

Perhaps that's due more to the brand of wax used than the method? I seem to recall that natural waxes with high carunuba % or just 100% carunuba don't take well to the heat that is applied from use of the PC. I know some detail "shops" apply wax with the PC just to save time, but the better ones advertise wax applied by hand. Plus, applying by hand is more precise than running it over with the PC I would think.

Ya perhaps with the high % 'nuba wax. I dont think the sauce i use is more than 75 but it still reacts wierd. Another thing that reacted wierd was pre wax sealant. if you go over it with a buffer it will never come off. Better off making a salad on your hood with extra oil.
