Chicagoland Meet

Since GAP has been cancelled, and there is an abundance of members either in or near the Chicago area, we should try to set up another meet.

Ideally I think a meet would last two days. That would give some time for out of area people to drive here and make it more worth while for them as well. Saturday and Sunday will generally work best im sure also. Id like to have some track time, and I imagine others would like that too. Anyone is welcome to come. Bring family, friends, whoever. Doesnt matter if you still drive a GA or not.

Anyone with specific dates they would like or events to schedule, post up!

My possible ideas:
1/4 mile drag racing at one of the local tracks
A cruise night
Mod/detail day
BBQ/Drink/Hangout and shoot the **** somewhere
Six Flags
Beach in the city

I too would love to see a meet close to home. I have been to GLD. As said they are usually busier on the weekends but I have to cool down between runs anyway.

Cruise night could be anywhere but Fox Lake sounds OK.

If Mark is willing that would be a great place to go for mod/detail day. I have so been wanting to get over to his shop anyway.

Marks lakefront spot is a really nice place to party. And it's private too. (had a great time last year)

I feel the same way about Six Flags but to each his own.

Since I won't make it to Albany again this year it would be great to meet some of the locals (and out of towners). Sign me up. I don't think I should throw out any dates cause it's close for me and I think I have very little to keep me away this summer. But sooner would be better than later.

I'd recommend using the last dates we had set for GAP since most people already have asked for work off on those days..it would probably get you an even larger turnout.

I concur.

I've been up to where Mark's suggesting. The lake is a nice place with plenty of room to park. The track thing has been said already but it'd still be fun and its close to Antioch. Also they have a pretty good pizza place up there too

I vote to have it there.

ok so it sounds like the lake in A-town is where its at... throw in a trip to GLD somewhere in there along with probably some pizzas and we have plenty of liquor stores around... we can do a mod day on probably the first day...

anyone else have any thoughts and/or suggestions...

also where's T at she should be helping get this ish going...

I think its safe to say if ANYONE from here (West Coast or East Coast) wants to come over they'll be more than welcome.

But what is there to do out west?

If we were to stick with the GAP '07 Dates things would end up like this...

Friday-
Meet up with most everyone
Mod/Detail/shoot the **** till about quarter to 5pm and head out to the track...
after the track we will have to play by ear cause I am not sure what everyone will be wanting to do....

Saturday-
meet with those who werent able to make it until saturday as well as those in town already..
Mod/detail/shoot the ****
Hang by the lake and eat Pizza from A-town Pizza Place (mmmm cheesy *homer drool*)

and either sat or suday night I would like to crash the Dog and Suds Cruise in night with a mass of current and former GMX130 owners... drool over the cars that are there... eat some greasy burgers...

there are tons of bars around here and tons of liquor stores so no much more you could want...

after that I would like to hear some suggestions... also the same for sunday....

I am sure sunday morning the people drinking sat night will want to sleep in so suday is kinda hard to plan but I think that we should be able to have quite a bit of fun at this meet and hopefully I'm not the only one who thinks so....

If you want to do this on another date please say something otherwise it seems that the GAP dates are ok
