as of right now I dont know that there are any dates set but if we use the GAP dates it the track day would be on friday the 20th iirc...

I am waiting for people to actually read and reply to my last post before we set any dates in stone or try to set up hotels

who else wants to help???

also I would like to state that I think the GAP '07 dates will work perfectly fine for this event

Mark, it looks like you might be the official, unofficial leader on this. So I am volunteering too. Let me know what needs done or how I can help. You should still have my number but pm me or something if you can't contact me. BTW, you knew I would ask about my tune. Stay in touch.

For possible events in the the city..the Cubs have home games over the period of this event (Whitesox have none...like they even matter )

http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/schedule...chc&m=7&y=2007

We probably can't buy a mass of tickets for obvious reasons, but from personal experience you can always buy some at the door or if you want to risk it from a scalper for a decent price..and closer to the game time means closer to face value.

It's just one option. There are also numerous restaurants in the region, including some that make killer Deep Dish Pizza..so if we have an evening open this would take up pretty much, all of it.

For those wondering how we'd get there, we can drive our cars into a burb and park our cars near a train station, Arlington Heights is a nice one good neighborhood not risky at all, and then ride the metro in.

I was born in Evanston and my Dad while he was finishing up his residency got a gig working at Wrigley taking care of the drunks from the bleachers session when they got alochol poisoning.

So you could say its in the blood. (Besides, we're not corporate sellouts )

Wrigley Field cost $250,000 and was built in 1914 (equivalent to $5,198,725.00 today)

US Cellular began construction in 1989..cost $167 million

well so far we have dates and events to take place on the first day...

Official Chicago Meet '07 Dates: Friday July 20- Sunday July 22nd

Friday Events:

9am-11:30am those who arrive late thursday or early friday are welcome to come over at this time for some light detailing and to accomplish any small mods you may not have had time to do prior to the meet.

11:30am - 12:30pm grab some lunch

12:30- 4 or 4:30 head to A-town wally world to have a meet and greet/car show while we wait for any late arrivals to show up

4 or 4:30 head out to GLD and watch/do some racing...

5-? watch/race and then play it by ear... some will want to go out drinking and some will want to stay in drinking and some wont want anything to do with drinking... depening on how I feel I may have a bonfire by the lake this night...

Sat: during the day ????

8pm-?? for sure hit the D&S "cruise in" in Fox Lake and then either play it by ear or head to the lake for a bonfire and drinking...

Sun: ???

I want to have the whole thing planned out by next monday...

BTW- this is gonna happen even if no one shows and its just me modding, detailing, racing, drinking and crashing the "cruise in"..

for me its like this.... First Official Chicago Meet: "Be there or I dont care"

it really depends on what you want to do.. I dont go to the city enough lately to know what all there is to do anymore so I will leave that to question to be ansered more by those who go there more...

I cant believe no one has posted in this thread for 2 days... come on guys/gals we need to step it up otherwise we are all gonna be standing around getting drunk at the lake... not that getting drunk by the lake isnt fun..
