I think it should be decided soon on a Hotel/Motel/Inn, or whatever.
Or we might get stuck with whatever is available at the last minute.

For example, I was looking at...
Approved by AAA, Hotels in the area of Antioch, IL:

Best Western Regency Inn
350 N Highway 173
Antioch, Illinois, 60002-1835
Phone: 847-395-3606
But it seems that it is not available from Friday, July 20 to Monday, July 23, '07.

Fairfield Inn by Marriott
6090 Gurnee Mills Cir E
Gurnee, IL 60031
Phone: 847-855-8868
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $114/night.

La Quinta Inn Chicago-Gurnee
5688 Northridge Dr
Gurnee, IL 60031
Phone: (847) 662-7600
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $103/night.

Candlewood Suites Chicago/Waukegan
1151 S Waukegan Rd
Waukegan IL 60085
Phone: 847-578-5250
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $89/night.

Courtyard by Marriott-Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee
3800 Northpoint Blvd
Waukegan IL 60085
Phone: 847-689-8000
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $109/night.

Crossland Studios-Chicago-Waukegan
1177 S Northpoint Blvd
Waukegan IL 60085
Phone: 847-688-0402
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $59.99/night.

Ramada-Waukegan
200 N Green Bay Rd
Waukegan IL 60085
Phone: 847-244-2400
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $90.25/night.

Quality Inn Waukegan-Great Lakes
619 S Green Bay Rd
Waukegan IL 60085
Phone: 847-662-3200
Has rooms from (AAA rate) $80.99/night.

I agree...

Best Western is the only HOTEL in antioch and is probably booked for Country Thunder (country music fest in WI) but there are plenty of motels in both fox lake and antioch so those of you who need/want a hotel/motel room check the following links for your options... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...UTF8&z=11&om=1

Well as far as the hotel goes I don't think we want anything too pricey..but at the same time not a dive.

I'd chime in but I know nothing about the suburbs these are each located in so I couldn't say which way I want to go..it would have to be someone local that narrows the list down for us. Just do keep in mind, a place with a secure parking lot is a plus.

As you get closer to the city there are lots more places to stay. Its only for two nights. Just go a little closer to the city and there are plenty of places to stay. You may have to drive about 30 min tops to and from your hotel once each day.

If you plan on doing any modding/detailing during the mod/detail day would people be willing to bring products/tools to share? It would be helpful for those who are making a little longer of a trip and have to pack up other things as well.

I have air tools available as well as a lot of specialty tools. However I dont have a compressor small enough to bring along. Post up if you plan on needing anything tool or product wise, or any mods you may need help installing.

I have quite a few tools here as well as air tools and a compressor.... but if others could bring theirs as well I am sure it would be better to have extra or possibly some people will have things others dont...

as for detailing I would ask that if you want any machine polishing done or want to use some of my detailing chemicals that you make a donation of at least $3 (anything more is up to you) to help cover some of the cost

Depends. I was there on Friday the 15th and got in 8 runs between 9 and 10:30 and that was with a lot of waiting around too. If its that busy when we go so figure you could probably get in 15 runs or more if you got there early.

For your first time at the track enough is never enough. Realistically after a few runs you'll get the hang of things but its hard to really get good at w/out a lot of practice. I've been to the track 4 or 5 times and I'm still not consistent enough to be happy. Just go with the intent of having fun and worry about having "enough" runs next time you go.

The time between runs will depend on how long you want your car to cool and how many people are there. When I was up at GLD, if I went directly back in line there was about a 5 minute wait. Plenty of time for your car to cool down to operating temp.

If you are able to, get a tune from mp racing sometime before the meet. Mark will be able to set your fans to stay on so the engine will cool faster. Plus you will drop some time in the 1/4
