The WHOLE car was that bad, becuase of the angle of the hood and lighting it really really really stood out. I honestly did not think i would be able to make it look that good, i thought for sure i would hit it with foam on the rotary and it wouldnt make a dent, it sure did though, i was impressed at the cutting power of optimum compound. The whole car does need to be wooled at a high rpm but if we did that it would add 2 more polishing steps that we (me

) really really did not wanna do.

I actually left the hood half done like that the whole weekend so that when people stopped by to chat or hang out we could show them what difference we where making to the whole car. Everyone was very impressed, we where quite happy.

Pretty cheap actually. I used MAYBE $20 in product.

BUT look at it this way also:

I have to have these products and tools at BARE MINIMUM just to do the job.
$15 for 32oz of optimum
$15 for 32oz of megs #80
$20 in claybar
$150 rotary
$120 porter cable
$50 in backing plates
$45 in pads
$10 for the wax
$30 in MF towels
Plus experiance in using these products/tools, plus 8-15 hours of work.

Did i use ALL of those products/tools that i have to now throw away or am out of now? No, but i couldnt do the job without those products/tools.

These 2 are my favorite, really shows what swirl marks and imperfection do to the look of the paint and the vehicle over all.

They make the paint look like a different color
Reds look pink
blacks look grey
whites look yellow
silvers look light grey

ect ect ect
