oh great so i already knew these things effect the amount of light shown out in front of car thus need more adjustment .

now i find the tyc may not be the better version which reduce the light even more. too bad i did not gets these post buy you nice folks before i made my purchase. that bites . i already will be putting in sylvania st's which i have in original lights.

i did keep waiting for everyones replies to the good and bad about thses lights andall my searching told nothing of this difference behind the reflector and not much about tyc versus jdm. actually do not think i heard the name jdm till this thread.

am i also now just finding out that tyc are the ones which get this spider cracking not jdm

Dude, your gonna live if they dont last 50 years in perfect condition. Its $200 for a pair of headlights. Most of us have ten times that amount of money put into our cars for parts that are going to break.

There is no noticeable different in light out put from the TYC than the other brands except for the corner blinker light. Youll be fine, and they look hella badass

my first pair (from autodynasty), which i had for about 6 months looked awesome and had no rainbow effect but the output light was slightly less....

i just bought me another pair (snowlyly0119) to replace my broken ones....

mirage85 what about the corner blinher , you say less light there versus jdm ones etc or versus the usual yellow corner one..

grand damn any of this spider cracking while you had them. the rainbow thing is nothing as said the factory lights have it too.

so if i get the cracking and is so hard to see then okay. but just the word cracking scares me .

my factory fogs light original and even as soon as i replaced them under warranty have a spider web cracking and it looks terrible. hope it's not that bad .

Your typing a mile a minute here. Just relax and get the TYC headlights. They are better quality, and there really is no noticable difference in light out put with them than the other brand black housings for the exception of the side blinker, and even then, you can still see it, except when its really sunny and bright out, but in those same conditions, you cant see the stock ones blinking. Thats why there is another blinker in the housing next to the nostriles.

I was going to wait to get some more comparisons between the two brands, but I'm just gonna say f-it and get the TYC's.

man i wish i could take that relaxed attitude more often. is stead of putting my self threw stress and heartburn hence the character in straight jacket threme. anothers i need to try to chill. be for i find my self in permanent chill 6 feet under . what matters is they hold up for a serval years as factory ones would and no cracking if it looks like my factory fogs.

From what I could understand in that post, you're taking this a liittle too far. How'd you put $30k into your Jeep if you're stressing over these?

these aftermarket lights are almost identical to factory headlights other than they are black instead of chrome and clear instead of amber for the corner lenses, i didnt notice any less light output from my stock headlights to these ones but i suppose there probably is, however i have no trouble at all seeing at night with these headlights, and both brands are the same except behind the corner lenses one is black and the other is crhome making the reflector appear brighter color that is all, so no worries

oh man the jeep was simple and did most my self. first simple carburator engine lots of space to even sit in engine pay to work. no struts / shocks instead/ got rid of any that could rust. from bolts to parts and replaced with stainless steel. changing fuilds simple and changing axles and gears simple.

so so easy to work on or customize. funny thing is i was about another 30 grand or more away from finishing it. yes i was anal with that too but less to go wrong , easy to see that right. like david versus golith

biggest changes would have been, 383 stroker summit engine , dodge 1 ton transfercase etc, dana 60 out back and put dana 44 from back up to the front with 4:56 gears and detroit locker in back and airlocker up front or airlockers at both ends.

CHEAPER and EASIER, for me to customize my gagt and get further in completeion with it then the jeep. that's why the jeep is for sale only reason.

also got to say after customising a few vehicles. the folks even today selling parts etc for the old cj's are selling reliable parts. bad parts , faughty parts counterfiet parts not around much a specially during the cj years. most of the type of folks selling cj parts were ex jeep racers or big big names in quality parts sales.

i have seen some of these blk out version headlights shown from front lit up on this site. but which versions they were i do not know. interested to see photo of both versions chrome behind reflector versus blk, from the front. i always like lots of light. but will have to see. they likely won't get installed til end of or next summer.

Give me a couple days and i will be at home on vacation, I can park my car next to my brothers and get some pics of them off, and lit so you can see there is not really a difference other than the TYC's look darker in the reflector area, which I really like on my car since its black, it blends in more.
