I worded it wrong.

I ment.. low as in "little" or "not so much" drop. I know they lower our cars the least.

My intrax springs settled a LOT. I understand I had a pretty big system and a backup battery and everything in the trunk but I was still tuckin tire.

I found this from http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...rticleId=44393:

"The GT version of the Grand Am also benefits from stiffer springs than the SE, and the difference is noticeable. Carving two-lane roads through the mountains in the GT Coupe, we didn't once feel the need to ingest a Dramamine tablet."

Ok, so i found this:
I obiously incline towards the GM sourced info, but still wonder why do other reviews say the GT has either stiffer springs, struts or thicker sway bars. Anyone?

1. "The Pontiac Grand Am came closest to its sport sedan aspirations when equipped with the V6. The tires, brakes and steering upgrades that came with this engine helped as well, and the stiffer-sprung GT cured the SE's excessive body roll."
Source: http://www.edmunds.com/pontiac/grandam/review.html

2. "The Pontiac Grand Am GT also has black window trim, dual exhaust, a useless ram-air intake, thicker sway bars, tighter struts, and front/rear disc brakes. The Grand Am SE has a chrome window trim, single exhaust, stock airbox, smaller sway bars, looser struts, and front disc brakes with rear drum brakes."

Those are just media sources reporting what GM wanted them to know back when the car was released. They didn't actually take the springs out and test them.

The GT suspension and the suspension for SE's with V6's are exactly the same. Trust me on this. My dad worked at a GM dealer and I had him look up all the part numbers for me. I even have service parts operations RPO code book. Look at the sticker under your spare tire cover. Top line on the far right should have an "FE3". That code is for all 1982-2002 "suspension system, sport". Only the SE four cylinders have a different code and the only difference there is the sway bar diameter.

btw that second link isn't even a reputable resource. It's just someone's personal page.

... whatever... it probably felt stiffer because the GT's have 50 series RS-A's on 16 inch wheels versus the SE's 60 series rubber on 15's... it wasn't body roll, it was the tire sidewall rolling over. Otherwise, both suspensions are the same.
